PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Dean Fergers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Diego Trujillo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Fergers might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Linkin' Park - Waiting for the End. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, and Jack Bonds.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fergers tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Trujillo swivels and escapes.

Fergers drives through with a takedown into Trujillo's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Fergers pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Trujillo is keeping the position for now.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Trujillo is wriggling around but Fergers manages to pass to half guard.
Fergers really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Fergers is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Trujillo doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Fergers.
Trujillo is looking for a sweep. Fergers is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Fergers performing his best blanket impression for a moment.
Fergers thows a huge punch but Trujillo dodges it nicely.
Trujillo is looking to escape.

Fergers stands up and beckons Trujillo to join him on the feet.
A slow jab from Trujillo misses its intended target.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Fergers moves into the clinch successfully.
Fergers blocks an uppercut.
Trujillo misses with a hook from the clinch.

Fergers is trying to trip Trujillo. He has hold of a leg but Trujillo is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Fergers persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Fergers not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Fergers drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Fergers seems to have locked his on tight now - Trujillo screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Fergers, as he picks up the win!

A relieved looking Dean Fergers thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
