Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Timothy Bukovac and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Boyd closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Gomez to the mat! Gomez manages to get full guard.
Boyd loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Boyd distracts Gomez with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

It looks like Doug Gomez has been cut.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Boyd stands up over Gomez, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Gomez wants to stand but Boyd is controlling the position.

Boyd might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Gomez haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Boyd lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Gomez is rocked!
Boyd gets to his feet and stands over Gomez, holding his ankles. He dives in with a big left hand that connects! Gomez felt that one! Boyd unloads more punches and elbows and this one is over! The ref has dived in to save Gomez from any more punishment!
