A fine choice. Ray Douglas has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Jimmy Pyle's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jimmy Pyle!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ray Douglas!
The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Thiago Cunha and Luis Engracia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Douglas swats away the attempt to clinch by Pyle.
Douglas throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Pyle's head.


It looks like Jimmy Pyle has been cut.
Pyle tries to clinch up against the ropes, rushing in to close the distance. Douglas manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Douglas closes this distance looking for a takedown but Pyle circles away.

Douglas drops Pyle with a beautiful combination! Pyle stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Douglas is looking for the KO!


Pyle is rocked!
Pyle tries to clinch up against the ropes, rushing in to close the distance. Douglas manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Oh Pyle is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Douglas clinches up against the ropes.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Douglas stalling.

Douglas has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Pyle clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
Douglas looking to hold on to the position here but Pyle rolls and ends up regaining guard.
Pyle seems to have got his legs back now.
Pyle wants to stand and escape but Douglas is having none of it.
Douglas wants to control from the top but Pyle keeps moving.
Douglas has been taking part in the yoga sessions down at Soco na mãe - Stand Up Striking. Presumably he's going to look for a slick submission... Or maybe he's looking to avoid one.
Douglas tries to free his leg and advance position but Pyle is retaining full guard.

Douglas throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Pyle works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Douglas wants to control from the top but Pyle keeps moving.
Douglas loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Douglas trying to control but Pyle is working from the bottom.
Pyle seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission.
Douglas postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Douglas loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Douglas looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Pyle keeping full guard, as Douglas tries to pass.
Douglas trying to control the position from guard on top but Pyle is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Douglas works a leg free and moves into half guard.

Douglas has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Douglas can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Pyle is looking to escape.
Douglas wants to control but Pyle has made it back to half guard. Nice work.
Douglas seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Douglas stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.
Pyle showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Douglas.

Pyle gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Douglas misses with an elbow over the top.
Douglas tries to pull guard but Pyle forces him back to his feet, against the ropes.
Douglas trying to stall but Pyle improves his position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ray Douglas dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Jimmy Pyle's cut.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Pyle stuffs the takedown attempt from Douglas. Douglas gets slowly back to his feet.
Douglas tries to clinch but Pyle moves out of range.
Pyle closes the distance looking to clinch

and Douglas counters with a head kick that drops Pyle to the mat! Pyle scrambles across the canvas and gets back to his feet, still wobbly!

and Douglas counters with a right, left combo that wobbles Pyle badly! Douglas follows up with a massive right hook, straight to the bridge of the nose that knocks Pyle out cold! Oh wow, what a finish! Very reminiscent of Koscheck vs Yoshida as Douglas finished him against the ropes.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:26 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Ray Douglas!
After winning the bout, Ray Douglas thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
