Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Sean Moloney (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and David Souza (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Souza has chosen Los Porongas - Silêncio as his entrance music. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Souza shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Moloney pinned against the ropes. Moloney gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Moloney misses with a head kick.
Souza throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Moloney's waist but Moloney gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Souza off to one side.
Souza slips a jab and a cross from Moloney.
Moloney lands with a thumping leg kick.
Moloney cracks a nice hook into Souza's ribs.
Moloney keeps Souza at a distance using the push kick.
Souza shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Moloney but Moloney pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Sean Moloney has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of David Souza.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

David Souza seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Moloney rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Souza moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Souza shoots in and drives through. Moloney sprawls well.
Moloney's corner calls for a 1-2. Moloney obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Souza will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Moloney lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
Souza shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Moloney but Moloney pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Souza uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Moloney.

Souza manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Moloney on his heels. He'll look to pass Moloney's guard now, I'm sure.

Moloney wants to stand and escape but Souza is having none of it.

Souza is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

Moloney knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Souza on the ground.

Souza drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Souza jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Moloney is looking to stand up but Souza isn't so interested in that idea.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Souza works a leg free and moves into half guard.

Souza looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Souza wants to lay and pray for a moment but Moloney keeps working.

Souza has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Moloney defend it? Souza steps over the head and cranks it - Moloney is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Souza!
