Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Harry Mcclure!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Rocco Balboa!
The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Jonathan Paton and Anthony Taglia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Balboa rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Mcclure moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Balboa bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Mcclure tries to bench press Balboa off him but Balboa keeps the position.
Mcclure bucks up and tries to throw Balboa off but instead Balboa has got his back!
Mcclure trying to control the action but Balboa just sinks the hooks in.
Mcclure is trying to get back to his feet but Balboa has full control of the position and if anything, Mcclure has just worked his way into a worse spot.

Balboa is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Mcclure knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Mcclure for a finish.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Balboa isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Mcclure stacks Balboa on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Mcclure!

Balboa tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Mcclure manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Balboa darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Balboa is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Mcclure defends it well.

Mcclure is concentrating on defense, preventing Balboa from advancing position.
Balboa tries to stand and escape but Mcclure is controlling the position.

Balboa looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Balboa takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Mcclure is refusing to be controlled, as Balboa sits in half guard.

Mcclure manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Balboa keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.
Balboa jumps guard but Mcclure stands there with Balboa around his waist. Balboa gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Balboa wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Mcclure is trying to break the clinch but Balboa has him pressed against the cage.
Mcclure wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Mcclure is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.

Balboa breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Mcclure tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Mcclure throws a head kick but Balboa moves out of range.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Balboa wants to clinch.

Balboa moves in looking to clinch but Mcclure pushes him off.
Rocco Balboa seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Mcclure gets tackled into the cage by Balboa. Balboa maintains the clinch.
Balboa jumps guard but Mcclure stands there with Balboa around his waist. Balboa gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Mcclure breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Rocco Balboa is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Balboa is looking to clinch.
Balboa fails with a takedown attempt.
Harry Mcclure has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rocco Balboa.
Balboa throws a head kick but Mcclure moves out of range.

and Mcclure counters with an outside leg kick.
Mcclure tries to clinch there but Balboa circles away.

Balboa gets caught flat footed, as Mcclure shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Balboa throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Mcclure escapes and throws Balboa's legs to the side, diving into side control!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Balboa is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Mcclure off and has taken his back!

Rocco Balboa showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Mcclure closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Mcclure lands in his opponent's guard.
Mcclure postures up.
Rocco Balboa has got the better of the ground game so far.

Balboa is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Balboa keeping moving, preventing Mcclure from controlling successfully.
Mcclure loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Balboa looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Mcclure throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Balboa works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Balboa pushes a forearm under Mcclure's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Mcclure is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
