The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Shirou Masuda and Kenichi Hosakawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Martinez clinches with his opponent.
Craft looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Martinez keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Craft's efforts to push away.
Martinez is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.

Martinez jumps guard but Craft stands there with Martinez around his waist. Martinez gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Shad Craft has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Hugo Martinez.
The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.
Craft wants to break the clinch but can't.

That was a close round but I would say that Shad Craft will probably get the nod.

Craft is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Martinez is just riding it out for now. Craft eventually gives up the hold.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Craft connects with a nice short shot to Martinez's temple.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Craft is on top in guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Craft postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Martinez is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Craft dives into side control.
Martinez takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Martinez is not in a great position here, taking some shots.
Craft lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
Martinez is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Craft is one step ahead and moves to full mount!
Craft really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Craft with shots to the head and body - Martinez looks very uncomfortable down there.
Craft has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Martinez's face.

Craft is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Martinez has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Martinez!

Craft will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Craft has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Craft's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Craft has his foot on Martinez's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Martinez works his way back into a safe position though.

We're going to have a standup here because Shad Craft wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Craft, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
