The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Turgeon connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
We've been hearing reports that Jomo has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Turgeon looks to land a right hand but Jomo moved out of range.
Turgeon fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Jomo.
Jomo dives in and grabs Turgeon's left leg, looking for a takedown. Turgeon pushes down on Jomo's head and hops out.

Turgeon tries to score with a low kick but Jomo moves his leg out of the way.

Jomo shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Turgeon napping and manages to drive through into side control!
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Jomo trying to control the action but Turgeon is working from the bottom.

Jomo tries for a kimura but Turgeon is defending well.

Jomo is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Turgeon has escaped the position, nice work there.

Jomo is trying to get an arm triangle but Turgeon is defending well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Jomo is working to tighten his grip on Turgeon's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Turgeon has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Jomo is really squeezing tight and eventually Turgeon passes out! Jomo breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
