Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ragnhildur Haraldsson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 2 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, Paul George! The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Kenichi Hosakawa and Shigeki Sano.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Haraldsson pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. Haraldsson throws a low kick, looking for George's leg but George calmly moves out of range. Haraldsson lands with an uppercut that bounces George off the cage and back into range. Haraldsson throws a series of punches but George moves out of range. George moves into the clinch. Haraldsson can't find room to land a body shot as George controls the action.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Haraldsson lands a body punch. Haraldsson wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Haraldsson trying to stall but George improves his position.
The referee is keeping an eye on George - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.

That's two minutes gone in the round. George landing some decent shots from guard. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as George accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. George trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. George distracts Haraldsson with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. George working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Haraldsson's head. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Haraldsson avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. George is looking to work some ground and pound but Haraldsson has wrist control. George with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. George throws a strike but Haraldsson rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Haraldsson preventing the sweep.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Haraldsson wants to control from the top but George keeps moving. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. George has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Haraldsson has passed into side control.
Haraldsson moves into full mount! George tries to reverse the position but Haraldsson maintains control. George is still trying to improve position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Haraldsson working for a submission but George is keeping him at bay. George is squirming around, avoiding Haraldsson's attempts to control the action. George can't escape the position.
George regains half guard. George trying to get back to full guard but Haraldsson takes advantage of the position and moves to full mount! George has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. George is trying to escape the mount.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Ragnhildur Haraldsson will probably get the nod. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

We've been told by Haraldsson's head coaches at Team Butcher Gym that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. George tries to clinch and Haraldsson counters with a body kick that stops George in his tracks momentarily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Haraldsson fakes a jab and scores with a low kick. Haraldsson turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. Some wild striking there from Haraldsson.
Haraldsson looks to score with a jab to the body but George is just out of range. No luck with that takedown attempt from George. Haraldsson throws a push kick but George slaps the foot to one side. Ragnhildur Haraldsson is winning the standup battle so far. George shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. George lands strikes from half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. George throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Haraldsson trying to hold on to George's head to control him but George postures up.
Haraldsson is trying to get back to full guard. George scoring with strikes to the body and head. George throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing Haraldsson to regain full guard. George working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Haraldsson is pulling down on George's head. It's preventing any offense from George, at least for the moment.
That's three minutes gone in the round. George is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Haraldsson is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Haraldsson has escaped and now he's on top! Haraldsson trying to control but George is working from the bottom. There's a bit of a scramble here and now George is on top in guard.

George drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Haraldsson manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now George has Haraldsson in his guard. George wants to improve his position but instead Haraldsson has moved into half guard.
Haraldsson is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so George is just riding it out for now. Haraldsson eventually gives up the hold. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Haraldsson trying to control from half guard but George is working away. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Ragnhildur Haraldsson dominated that second round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

George is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Haraldsson is looking to score with low kicks. George tries to move into range but Haraldsson moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand. Haraldsson misses with a leg kick. Haraldsson is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that George can do to turn this around? Haraldsson lands a jab to the nose. George tries to clinch up but Haraldsson circles away and keeps his distance. George shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Haraldsson pinned against the cage. Haraldsson gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. The fight stays on the outside here - George looks like he's thinking about clinching though. George tries to score a power double leg takedown but Haraldsson sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten George somewhat. Ragnhildur Haraldsson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Paul George.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Haraldsson dips down and scores with a jab to the body. George shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Haraldsson manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Haraldsson is trying to control the position from the bottom.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Haraldsson is on top in guard.
George wants to sweep but no luck.
That's three minutes gone in the round. George is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Haraldsson defends well. George doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.

Haraldsson is thwarting George's attempts to control the position. Haraldsson is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, George has managed to free his arm - good work. Ragnhildur Haraldsson is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. George is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Haraldsson looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Paul George has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Paul George has got the better of the ground game so far. Haraldsson with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Haraldsson prevents George from improving his position. George wants to sweep but Haraldsson has passed to side control! Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! George is looking to reverse the position.
And that's the end of the fight! Ragnhildur Haraldsson showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Haraldsson, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
