Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 17 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Floyd Howard!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Phil Brooks!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Gwen Towbar and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brooks shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Howard holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Howard dictating the pace here, as the fighters clinch against the cage.

Howard has picked Brooks up - he's going for a ride! Howard dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
Brooks is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Howard is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Brooks manages to get to full guard.
Howard stopping the sweep attempt from Brooks.
Brooks bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Howard's guard.
Howard manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

That's one minute gone in the round.
The referee warns Brooks that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Brooks is desperately trying to improve his position but Howard has a good base and remains in mount.
Brooks manages to regain half guard. Good work.
Brooks gets full guard.
Howard is stalling in the full guard.

Brooks throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Brooks wants to sweep but no luck.

Howard stands and steps away. Brooks gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Howard shoots in looking for a takedown but Brooks manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Howard's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Howard lands a two punch combo.
Brooks avoids a punch combination nicely.

Howard shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Howard showed some decent athleticism there.
Brooks is trying to stand up here but Howard is controlling him well.

Brooks looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Brooks regains full guard. Nicely done.
Howard trying to control the position from guard on top but Brooks is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Brooks is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Howard rolls with it to try and escape but Brooks cranks on the arm and Howard is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
