Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Craig Ekart (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and J J Mendosa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Craig Ekart! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, J J Mendosa! The judges for this bout are Bart Greer, Sandra Marshall and Santiago Holmes.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ekart closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Ekart lands in his opponent's guard. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Mendosa is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Ekart in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Ekart working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Mendosa's head. Ekart working some strikes from top position. Ekart postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Ekart got a little sloppy there for a moment and Mendosa has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Ekart has managed to get both his arms back between Mendosa's legs - danger averted. Ekart showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Mendosa is looking for a triangle but Ekart pushes his legs off easily.
Ekart slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Ekart has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ekart working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. Ekart throws a strike but Mendosa rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Ekart seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. Ekart keeping moving, preventing Mendosa from controlling successfully. Ekart on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Ekart tries to get out of the position. Mendosa loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Mendosa trying to control the position from guard on top but Ekart is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ekart is pulling down on Mendosa's head to control his posture.
The ref stands the fighters back up. J J Mendosa was stalling too much, according to the referee. Mendosa misses the shot to the body. A slapping body kick lands there for Mendosa. The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Ekart checks a leg kick. A leg kick checked by Ekart. Mendosa tries to land a front kick but Ekart steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Mendosa throws a leg kick that misses. A leg kick checked by Ekart.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mendosa lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Ekart takes a swing at Mendosa's ribcage but misses. Mendosa feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Ekart's calf. Ekart has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Mendosa. Mendosa throws a leg kick but Ekart sees it coming and checks it nicely. Mendosa cracks the inside of Ekart's front leg. Mendosa lands a body shot.
Mendosa throws a sloppy head kick and Ekart moves out of range easily. Mendosa thuds a left hand into Ekart's body. Mendosa lands with a straight right. Ekart didn't see that one coming. Mendosa lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Mendosa scores with a slapping inside leg kick. Mendosa lands a high kick!
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Ekart feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Mendosa trying to control the position.
Ekart working some strikes from top position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Ekart makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Mendosa wants to stand up but Ekart is controlling him. Mendosa has momentary wrist control but Ekart slips an elbow through the middle. Mendosa is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Ekart postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Ekart postures up.
Ekart stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Mendosa swivels though and keeps the full guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but J J Mendosa will probably get the nod. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
The fighters circle momentarily. Mendosa darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. Ekart drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Mendosa is looking for a sweep. Ekart in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows. Mendosa is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Ekart's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. Ekart lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Mendosa has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Ekart is working away from the top position though.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ekart trying to control the pace. Ekart thows a huge punch but Mendosa dodges it nicely.
Ekart landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Mendosa is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Ekart scores with a couple of nice shots. Ekart with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Ekart working the head and body with strikes. Mendosa is trying to get back to full guard. Mendosa has a hand on Ekart's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Ekart takes advantage of the position though and mounts him!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mendosa is in all sorts of trouble here.

That's three minutes gone in the round. A big strike lands for Ekart! That's really hurt Mendosa and he's turned his back - Ekart keeps firing away and the ref dives in to stop the fight! Ekart jumps to his feet to celebrate the victory!
