Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tesco Vee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Michael Street (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Vee comes to the cage accompanied by Lynyrd Skynyrd - Simple man. Street is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by The Truth. Michael Street has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 26 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Tesco Vee!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 24 - 22 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Michael Street!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Elvis Blanc and Dillan Fox.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vee tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Street lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Vee at a distance.
Michael Street seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Street blocks a jab.
Vee slips under a jab from Street.
Street feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Vees jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Street wants to clinch.
Street fails to land with a series of punches.
Street throws out a loose jab but Vee uses good head movement to avoid it.
Vee looks to land a combination but Street avoids it well.

Street takes the fight into the clinch.
Street with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Vee pushes off an throws an elbow but Street leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.
Vee lands a hook that snaps the head of Street backwards.
Vee pushes Street back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Street blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.
A quick uppercut on the inside from Vee.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Vee tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
Street stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.
I was talking to Vee's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
Vee blocking some punches.
Street blocks a punch to the side of the head.
A head punch on the inside from Vee fails to land.
Street scores with a knee to the head.
Street is struggling to control the position.
Vee misses with a hook from the clinch.
Vee lands a nice shot to the body.

Vee lands a hook to the side of the head.
Street throws a head punch that misses.

Street is trying to trip Vee. He has hold of a leg but Vee is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Street persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
Street stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Vee swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Vee bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Street's guard.


That's two minutes gone in the round.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Street is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Street is thwarting Vee's attempts to control the position.
Street uses his free foot to push down on Vee's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Vee.
Vee tries to reverse the position but Street maintains control.
Vee tries to hold on but Street pushes him away.
Street has been taking part in the yoga sessions down at Bruize Brothers. Presumably he's going to look for a slick submission... Or maybe he's looking to avoid one.

Street landing strikes, looking to finish!
Street scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Vee?
Street lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Street throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage.
Vee keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Street with a couple of short strikes.
Vee tries to reverse the position but Street maintains control.
Street throwing strikes here but Vee is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.
Vee wants to control but Street is having none of it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Street working for a submission but Vee is keeping him at bay.

Street landing strikes from the mount and Vee is in trouble!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Street lands a heavy shot. That's hurt Vee! Street sees the opportunity and turns up the heat - strike after strike land to the defenseless Vee and the ref dives in to save him! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:53 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Michael Street!
Michael Street is the new light heavyweight champion!
Tesco Vee was interviewed post fight and said 'I wanted to say that I tried to stay at top level, defend against all contenders but my body can't take it anymore on such a level. Time to step out and make place for young guns. Congratulations Tommy for W and good luck! I still want to fight but not for a title with top contenders. That's not m'.
