Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Yury Ignashevich! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Johny Cracken! The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Paul Aken and Paulsen Ambrosius.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cracken stuffs the takedown. Cracken is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. No luck for Ignashevich with that takedown attempt. Cracken displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Ignashevich. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Yury Ignashevich. That's going to take a lot out of him. Cracken scores with a shot to the body.
Cracken slips a jab and a cross from Ignashevich.
Ignashevich shoots in looking for a takedown. Cracken tries to sprawl out of it but Ignashevich keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Cracken manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Ignashevich is defended easily by Cracken. Cracken lands a left and a right that send Ignashevich crashing to the mat, dazed. Cracken thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
It looks like Yury Ignashevich has been cut. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Ignashevich is breathing heavily. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Cracken looks to land a combination but Ignashevich avoids it well. Cracken misses with a series of wild punches.
Cracken stuffs the takedown attempt from Ignashevich. Ignashevich gets slowly back to his feet. Ignashevich looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Cracken throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Jab from Cracken. Ignashevich tries to move into range but Cracken moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand. Ignashevich gets in close and instigates a clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ignashevich tries to score a body lock takedown but Cracken shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Ignashevich tries to pull guard but Cracken won't allow it.
Cracken wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Ignashevich changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Cracken fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Cracken tries to bum rush Ignashevich with a series of wild strikes but Ignashevich uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Cracken lands a right hook to the body.
Cracken lands a left and a right that send Ignashevich crashing to the mat, dazed. Cracken thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet! Cracken circles and sees the opportunity to plant his feet and throw a really nice straight left hand that drops Ignashevich to the canvas! Ignashevich doesn't know where he is but he's trying to survive - Cracken keeps piling on the pressure and forces the referee to step in! This one is aaaaaall over!
