Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mustaffa Spliff (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Athan Stamatis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Stamatis has chosen Lose Yourself as his entrance music. Spliff has a slight injury, which hopefully won't affect the fight too much. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
41 - 37 - 0, fighting out of London, Mustaffa Spliff! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
43 - 23 - 0, fighting out of New York, Athan Stamatis! The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Russell Pearce and John Kavanagh.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Spliff closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Spliff throws a punch but it's blocked by Stamatis. Stamatis looking to stall.
Spliff lands with a short head shot on the inside. Spliff lands a left hand that snaps the head of Stamatis backwards. Stamatis trying to stall but Spliff improves his position.
Still in the clinch, Spliff scores with a nice short uppercut. Stamatis lands with a good tight uppercut to the head. Spliff tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage. Spliff misses with some punches.
A bit of stalling here from Stamatis.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Stamatis looks for the body kick but Spliff saw that one coming. Stamatis misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Stamatis lets loose with a powerful body kick. Spliff will feel that in the morning. Spliff is breathing heavily. Spliff chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Stamatis can pounce on him.
That's one minute gone in the round. Stamatis changes levels and scores with a jab to the body. Stamatis lunges at Spliff with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Spliff's hand. A head kick misses from Stamatis. Stamatis lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Spliff at a distance.
Stamatis lands a jab to Spliff's midsection. Athan Stamatis seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Stamatis connects with an inside leg kick. Stamatis misses the shot to the body. That kick from Stamatis tenderised Spliff's leg. Spliff is trying to keep his angry face on. Spliff closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so. Stamatis lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Spliff circles away quickly and effectively. Stamatis scores with a head kick. Spliff tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Stamatis connects with a single shot there.
Spliff is rocked! Stamatis scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Oh Spliff is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Stamatis prevents Spliff from escaping the position. Stamatis throws an elbow but Spliff slips to the side and avoids it well. Spliff is pushing Stamatis's head away, looking to escape. Stamatis manages to hold on to the position though. Spliff seems to have got his legs back now. Stamatis wants to control but Spliff is keeping him busy. Stamatis throws a strike aimed at the side of Spliff's head but Spliff avoids it well. Stamatis trying to control the action but Spliff is working from the bottom. Stamatis working the head and body with strikes. Spliff is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Stamatis asserts his dominance and retains side control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Stamatis trying to control the action but Spliff is working from the bottom.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Spliff tries to escape but Stamatis is in control. Stamatis wants to control but Spliff is keeping him busy. Spliff is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Stamatis is controlling him well. Spliff avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Stamatis. Spliff is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Stamatis has just dragged him back down to the mat.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Stamatis waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Spliff. Spliff wants to clinch but Stamatis slips to the side and Stamatis counters with a nice low kick that buckles Spliff's knee momentarily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Stamatis dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Stamatis jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Stamatis closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Stamatis missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Stamatis landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Stamatis trying to mount his opponent but Spliff defends it. Stamatis content to control rather than advance. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Athan Stamatis dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Stamatis shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Spliff is trying to defend but Stamatis finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Stamatis has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Spliff tries to kick Stamatis off but Stamatis keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Stamatis not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Spliff is refusing to be controlled, as Stamatis sits in half guard. Stamatis wants to control but Spliff is keeping him busy. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Stamatis frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
That's one minute gone in the round. Spliff's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up. Stamatis lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Spliff is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position. Stamatis connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Stamatis is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Spliff can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

Spliff takes a big shot to the dome and his eyes have rolled back in his head! Stamatis's killer instinct has kicked in as he finishes the fight with more strikes. Impressive finish.

After the fight, Athan Stamatis was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
