Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Major Mcconnell! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Bryce Daniels! The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Frank Antenori and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Daniels is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Mcconnell's half guard. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Daniels sitting and controlling from the half guard. Daniels wants to lay and pray for a moment but Mcconnell keeps working. Daniels is figuring out what he wants to do next. Daniels is stalling here. Mcconnell is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Daniels seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Mcconnell has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Daniels tries to improve position but can't. Daniels on the wrong end of some ground and pound. Daniels tries to escape but Mcconnell is in control. Mcconnell wants to stand but Daniels has his arm trapped. Mcconnell tries to get to his feet but Daniels is in the middle of advancing position himself and ends up with Mcconnell in his guard. Mcconnell trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Daniels wants to sweep but no luck. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Mcconnell gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Daniels has closed the distance and engaged Mcconnell in a clinch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Daniels is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage. Mcconnell manages to pull guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Daniels stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Mcconnell swivels though and keeps the full guard. Daniels trying to control but Mcconnell is working from the bottom. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Daniels stopping the sweep attempt from Mcconnell.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Bryce Daniels. Daniels shoots in and bounces Mcconnell off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Mcconnell controlling the position. Daniels wants to control from the top but Mcconnell keeps moving.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Mcconnell can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Daniels controls the pace.
The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Bryce Daniels wasn't active enough on the ground. Daniels shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Daniels was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Daniels happy to just control the position for now. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Bryce Daniels dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
The fight stays on the outside here - Mcconnell looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Daniels fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Mcconnell sprawls well initially but Daniels persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Daniels drops an elbow to the side of Mcconnell's head. Daniels wants to stand up but Mcconnell has a hold of him and won't allow it. Daniels is trying to work for a kimura but Mcconnell is defending well.
Still in half guard, Daniels seems content to control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mcconnell is not content to let Daniels control the position. Daniels trying to advance position but Mcconnell counters by regaining guard. Daniels tries to free his leg and advance position but Mcconnell is retaining full guard. Mcconnell will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Daniels wants to control from the top but Mcconnell keeps moving. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
OK we're going to have a standup here. Bryce Daniels hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Daniels shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mcconnell is staying active underneath Daniels, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Daniels looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Bryce Daniels has got the better of the ground game so far. Daniels working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Daniels seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Mcconnell does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Bryce Daniels. Daniels doesn't manage to clinch there - Mcconnell circles away.
Daniels looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Mcconnell! Daniels taking a break here but Mcconnell is having none of it and regains half guard. Daniels is keen to just control but Mcconnell is a slippery customer.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Daniels looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Daniels is just content to waste time from the top position. Mcconnell takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Bryce Daniels showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!
Daniels throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Daniels throws a body punch but Mcconnell moves out of range. Daniels closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Daniels lands in his opponent's guard. Daniels is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Daniels working some strikes from top position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Daniels controlling from the top position. Daniels pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Mcconnell is keeping the position for now.

Mcconnell is trying to defend but Daniels finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Daniels slips a nice elbow through Mcconnell's hands, connecting with Mcconnell's forehead.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Daniels passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Mcconnell! Mcconnell is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Daniels looking to control but Mcconnell is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

Mcconnell avoids a series of strikes thrown by Daniels.
Mcconnell regains half guard. Daniels throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Daniels trying to control the action but Mcconnell is working from the bottom.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Bryce Daniels. Mcconnell blocks a head kick by Daniels.
Daniels tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Mcconnell paws at him with a jab and circles away. Daniels gets a double leg takedown into Mcconnell's guard. Daniels trying to control but Mcconnell is working from the bottom. Mcconnell controlling Daniels's posture. Daniels has been the more effective fighter overall so far. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. The fight stays on the outside here - Daniels looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
And that's the end of the fight! Bryce Daniels comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Daniels has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
