Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Felipe Chavez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Speed Punch (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Felipe Chavez has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Felipe Chavez seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Felipe Chavez! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Speed Punch! The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Don Winkell and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Punch lands a nice looking body shot.
Punch tries to land a front kick but Chavez steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. A low kick from Punch misses and Chavez counters with a nice low kick that buckles Punch's knee momentarily. Punch shoots in and bounces Chavez off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Chavez is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. Punch is looking to advance position but Chavez has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount! Chavez wants to control the pace but Punch is squirming around nicely. Punch is looking to get to half guard.

Punch looking to score a takedown here. Chavez is defending well but Punch drives through and ends up in Chavez's guard. Punch controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Chavez has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Punch is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Chavez. Punch is trying to ground and pound but Chavez uses the momentary lack of control by Punch to regain half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Chavez is staying active underneath Punch, who seems content to just control the action from this position. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Speed Punch has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. Punch feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Punch is fighting to break Chavez's control of his arms but Chavez is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. Punch wants to pass the guard but Chavez is keeping the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Punch trying to move into half guard but instead Chavez has managed to sweep! Chavez forces his way into half guard. Chavez is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Chavez is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Chavez keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Chavez has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Punch is trying to reverse the position but instead Chavez has taken his back - oops! Chavez tightening his grip on Punch, looking for the choke. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Chavez working from the back looking to end the fight with a rear naked choke. Punch is doing well to defend. Chavez seems to have got his hand under the chin though and he's sunk the choke in! Punch is forced to tap and this one is over!
