Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Wayne McGain!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Terry Acton!
The judges for this bout are Peter Branson, Daniel Franklin and Michael Johnstone.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McGain shoots in and drives through. Acton sprawls well.

Acton moves into the clinch.
McGain tries to pull guard but Acton holds him up against the cage and eventually McGain drops back down to his feet.
Acton looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
McGain jumps guard but Acton stands there with McGain around his waist. McGain gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Wayne McGain. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Acton is looking to break free of the clinch but McGain has double underhooks.
McGain is trying to pull guard but Acton has him pressed against the cage.
Acton wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Acton wants to get back to striking at distance but McGain won't allow it.

Acton is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Acton is trying to force a seperation but McGain has the dominant position.
Acton gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from McGain.
Acton looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Acton is trying to push McGain away but McGain has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
McGain tries to pull guard but Acton won't allow it.

Acton breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
McGain dodges the punch combination from Acton.
Acton fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Acton cracks a nice hook into McGain's ribs.
Acton jabs McGain to the body, keeping him at a distance.

McGain closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Acton's guard.
McGain prevents Acton from getting back to his feet.
McGain trying to control but Acton is working from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Acton wants to stand up but McGain is controlling him.
Acton really doesn't want to stay on the ground with McGain. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Acton wants to get back to his feet but McGain passes into half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
McGain wants to lay and pray for a moment but Acton keeps working.
Acton is looking to escape.
McGain is looking to take a break and control but Acton is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Acton wants to get back to his feet.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Acton can do anything to dispel that myth.
McGain wants to lay and pray for a moment but Acton keeps working.

We're going to have a standup here because Wayne McGain wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Acton connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Acton moves in looking to clinch but McGain pushes him off.

Acton has McGain up against the cage in a clinch.
McGain tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Acton smiles and moves away.
Left hook, right uppercut from Acton.
Terry Acton seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Acton throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and McGain counters with a single leg into guard. Acton didn't expect that.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
This has been an exciting period of action!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
McGain's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Acton is looking to stand back up but McGain counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Acton.
Acton pushes McGain off but McGain dives into side control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Terry Acton will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


McGain shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Acton sprawls well. Acton wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. McGain gets slowly back to his feet.
Acton tries to clinch but McGain moves out of range.
McGain takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Acton scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Acton connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between McGain's hands.
Acton scores with a one two! McGain had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Acton scores with a three punch combo!
Acton misses with the combination.

Acton gets in close and instigates a clinch.

McGain has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Acton uses from the top position.

Acton is looking to stand up but McGain won't let him.
McGain bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Acton's guard.
McGain pushes down on Acton's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Acton wants to get back to his feet.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
McGain seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

McGain is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Acton has managed to free his arm - good work.
Acton wants to stand back up but McGain manages to pass into side control.
Acton is pushing McGain's head away, looking to escape. McGain manages to hold on to the position though.
Acton tries to wriggle free to get back to his feet but he's given up his back! Oops.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Acton trying to get back to his feet but McGain is in full control for now.

Acton is trying to stand. He's onto all fours with McGain on his back. McGain looks like he's slipping off but he's actually tansitioning to a beautiful armbar! Acton has to tap out to a very impressive submission!
