Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Jeremy Pettis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kari Parisyen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Parisyen has chosen Hari ng Tondo as his entrance music. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 10 - 1, fighting out of Hilo, Jeremy Pettis! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
11 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Kari Parisyen! The judges for this bout are Micheangelo Fripello, Roger Salmon and Colin Fray.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Parisyen misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Pettis counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Parisyen misses the body punch and Pettis counters with a left to the body. We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Parisyen has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat. Parisyen closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Pettis did well to prevent Parisyen getting side control. Pettis tries to kick Parisyen off but Parisyen keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Parisyen is keen to just control but Pettis is a slippery customer. Parisyen looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Pettis is trying to stand.
That's one minute gone in the round. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Parisyen thows a huge punch but Pettis dodges it nicely.
Pettis wants to get back to his feet.
Pettis manages to escape and get back to his feet! Parisyen steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Pettis. Pettis connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt. Pettis connects with a right hand. Parisyen shakes it off. Pettis scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard. Parisyen slips a straight right by Pettis. Parisyen throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Pettis's waist but Pettis gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Parisyen off to one side. Parisyen tries to clinch but Pettis moves out of range. Parisyen walks into a stiff left hand from Pettis.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Parisyen shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Parisyen drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Parisyen wants to control from the top but Pettis keeps moving. Parisyen content to stall in guard here. Parisyen won't allow Pettis to get back to his feet. Parisyen is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Pettis preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Parisyen trying to control but Pettis is working from the bottom.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Parisyen stops Pettis from standing up. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Parisyen throws a big right hand that misses.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Parisyen fails with the takedown letting Pettis counter with a right hand. Jeremy Pettis has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kari Parisyen. Pettis scores with a hook. Parisyen throws a leg kick and Pettis connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Parisyen throws a leg kick and Pettis counters with a nice body shot. Parisyen misses with a shot to the body and Pettis counters with a stiff right hand. It looks like Pettis has been trying to sharpen up his punching technique, as it looks crisper than last time we saw him. Pettis fakes a jab and then connects with a hook. Nice sprawl there from Pettis as Parisyen shoots in.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Parisyen ducks right into an uppercut from Pettis. Pettis punishes Parisyen's body with a nice straight punch. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Pettis connects with a looping right hand.
Parisyen is rocked! Jeremy Pettis is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Pettis throws an overhand right that drops Parisyen like a sack of potatoes! Pettis dives in to finish the fight with more strikes and this one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:27 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jeremy Pettis! In his post fight interview, Jeremy Pettis started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception. Kari Parisyen spoke after the fight, saying 'I give it up to my opponent. He fought good tonight.'.
