Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ryan Elves (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dolph Spengler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Elves's entrance music is Seether - Remedy. A fine choice. The crowd seem to be enjoying Spengler's choice of entrance music: Bully. Ryan Elves has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ryan Elves!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Dolph Spengler!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Alec Ball and Dillan Fox.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Spengler fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Elves displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Spengler.

Elves shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Spengler is trying to defend but Elves finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Spengler keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Spengler looks like he's trying to stand up.
Elves wants to take a breather but Spengler is having none of it.
Elves prevents Spengler from standing back up.
Elves moves into full mount! Spengler won't be happy about that!

Elves wants to lay and pray for a moment but Spengler keeps working.

The referee calls for the fighters to work.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Ryan Elves just wasn't active enough.
A head kick misses from Spengler.
Elves goes for a double leg but Spengler avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Spengler continues to drive forward.
Elves is working for takedown but Spengler is calmly controlling the position for now.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Spengler tries to clinch but Elves is having none of it.
Elves circles away from the clinch attempt.
Spengler stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Spengler wants it to stay on the feet.

Spengler forces Elves back against the cage and clinches.

Spengler escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Spengler trying to control the position but instead, Elves has worked for underhooks and has pushed Spengler into the cage.
Spengler lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
Spengler tries to land knees in the clinch but Elves avoids the damage to the body.

Spengler has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Elves uses from the top position.
Ryan Elves overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Spengler is looking to stand up but Elves isn't so interested in that idea.

Elves postures up in Spengler's guard and throws a big left but Spengler blocks it.
Elves not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Ryan Elves wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Elves avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Elves looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Spengler!
We've been informed that Spengler has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Spengler tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Elves wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dolph Spengler showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! And we move into the final round!

Elves wants to take the fight to the mat but Spengler manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Well, if Elves is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Spengler tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Elves manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Spengler tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
