The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No luck with that takedown attempt from Sax.
Emelianenko tries to bum rush Sax with a series of wild strikes but Sax uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
A jab-cross combination lands for Sax and sends Emelianenko crashing to the mat! Sax follows him down to the mat - Emelianenko regains half guard but he's not out of trouble yet!
It looks like Fedor Emelianenko has been cut.
Sax throwing shots but Emelianenko is blocking nicely.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Sax throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Emelianenko's waist but Emelianenko gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Sax off to one side.

Emelianenko takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Emelianenko wants to clinch up but Sax keeps it at a distance.
Sax steps in with a hook that catches Emelianenko right on the chin and knocks him to the floor! Sax follows him down with more strikes and that's all she wrote! Emelianenko looks absolutely devastated.
