Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Frankie Sharpe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jason Micker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jason Micker has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Frankie Sharpe!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jason Micker!
The judges for this bout are , Jack Bonds and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Micker tries to keep at a distance but Sharpe has taken the fight into the clinch.
Micker looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Sharpe drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Micker gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Sharpe takes an elbow to the forehead.


It looks like Frankie Sharpe has been cut.
Micker manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.

Micker ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Micker no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Sharpe is looking to stand up but Micker won't let him.
Sharpe missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Sharpe wants to stand but Micker has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Micker is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Sharpe defends well.
Sharpe will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Sharpe wanted to stand there but Micker had control of the position.
Sharpe throws a big elbow that misses.
Sharpe has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Micker wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Sharpe is now in half guard.

Sharpe stands up out of the half guard.
Sharpe fails with an attempt to clinch.
Jason Micker seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Micker darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

Sharpe looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.

Sharpe manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Micker manages to get himself to full guard.

Sharpe stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Micker has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Sharpe is landing a low percentage of strikes.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Micker shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Sharpe is trying to defend but Micker finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Sharpe slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Sharpe is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Micker defends well.

Sharpe escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Micker gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Sharpe really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Micker wants to control from the top but Sharpe keeps moving.

Sharpe is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Micker defends well.
Micker must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Sharpe had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Micker defends it easily.
Micker wants to stand but Sharpe is controlling his posture from full guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Sharpe keeping moving, preventing Micker from controlling successfully.

Sharpe closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
A nice left hand lands by Sharpe.

Micker breaks the clinch.

Sharpe tries to keep at a distance but Micker has taken the fight into the clinch.

Micker pulls guard effortlessly.

Sharpe gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Sharpe tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Micker on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.

Sharpe gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Sharpe working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Micker doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Micker manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Micker is breathing heavily.

Sharpe working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Micker doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Micker manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Sharpe looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Sharpe is looking for a triangle but Micker pushes his legs off easily.

Micker would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Sharpe escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Micker gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Sharpe manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Micker manages to get himself to full guard.
Sharpe has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Micker is proving hard to escape from.

Micker looking to control.
Frankie Sharpe overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Sharpe is working Micker over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Sharpe stands up from Micker's guard - Sharpe perhaps looking for a knockout.
Sharpe throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Micker.

Sharpe has closed the distance and engaged Micker in a clinch.

Sharpe is looking to take this one to the mat.
Sharpe wants a takedown but no success here.

Micker jumps guard and drags Sharpe to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Sharpe prevents Micker from getting back to his feet.
Micker controls Sharpe momentarily but Sharpe frees himself.

Sharpe decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Micker drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!


Sharpe fails with an attempt to clinch.
Micker lands a right hook to the body.
Sharpe tries to clinch there but Micker circles away.
Sharpe tries to clinch but Micker moves out of range.
Sharpe throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
The fight stays on the outside here - Sharpe looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Micker closes the distance and pushes Sharpe back into the cage.

Sharpe pulls guard successfully.
Micker takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Sharpe tries to get to full guard but Micker has control of the leg.
Sharpe is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Micker jumps into side control!

Micker wants to stand up but Sharpe manages to regain full guard.
Sharpe lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.
Sharpe scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Micker wants to control but Sharpe passes easily into half guard.

Sharpe is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Micker can do anything to dispel that myth.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Sharpe connects with a nice short shot to Micker's temple.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Sharpe is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Micker trying to control here.
Sharpe prevents Micker from improving his position.

Micker is looking to control Sharpe's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Micker avoid being mounted?

Micker keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Micker wants to get back to his feet.
Sharpe working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Sharpe gets to his feet - back to striking we go!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Micker takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.

And that's the end of the fight!
Frankie Sharpe showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Sharpe, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
