PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Bruce Lee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tom Noisy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Bruce Lee!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Tom Noisy!
The judges for this bout are Josh West, Micheangelo Fripello and Roger Salmon.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Noisy moves in looking to clinch but Lee pushes him off.
The fight stays on the outside here - Noisy looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Lee throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Noisy fails in his attempt to clinch.
Noisy with a poor takedown
and Lee counters with a head kick. That will keep Noisy thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!
Lee could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Lee throws a sloppy head kick and Noisy moves out of range easily.
Lee blocks the body kick.
Noisy shoots for a double leg takedown but Lee sprawls well. He's pushed Noisy's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Lee shoots for a takedown but Noisy saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Lee closes this distance looking for a takedown but Noisy circles away.
Noisy looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Lee is fending him off so far but Noisy persists. Nope, Lee circles away and we're back to standing.
Bruce Lee has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tom Noisy.

Noisy fails in his attempt to clinch.
Noisy thows a leg kick but Lee checks it
and Lee counters with a head kick. That will keep Noisy thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!
Noisy tries to clinch but Lee is having none of it.
Lee tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Noisy defends well and Lee ends up having to push Noisy into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Noisy misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Lee.
Noisy keeps control of Lee as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Lee wants to get back to striking at distance but Noisy won't allow it.

Noisy controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Noisy's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Lee wants to stand up but Noisy is controlling him.
Noisy stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Lee swivels though and keeps the full guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Tom Noisy has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Lee misses with the combination.
Lee checks the leg kick.
Noisy shoots in but Lee avoids the takedown attempt easily.

and Lee counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.

Lee misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Noisy swings widly with a right hand
and Lee counters with a head kick.

Noisy shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Lee but Lee pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Noisy tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Lee manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Lee misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Lee shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Lee was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Noisy gets back to half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Tom Noisy will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Tom Noisy seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Noisy scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Lee might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Noisy looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Lee is looking to escape.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Noisy works his way into side control.

Noisy slows the pace down.

Noisy stands up and we're back to a striking position.

Noisy tries to close the distance and clinch up but Lee swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Noisy goes for a double leg but Lee avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Lee continues to drive forward.

Lee breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Noisy drives through with a takedown into Lee's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Lee wants to stand and escape but Noisy is having none of it.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Noisy stands up and waves to Lee to follow him.

Lee throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Bruce Lee is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Lee tries a head kick but it misses.

Noisy bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tom Noisy showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!


Noisy throws a lazy uppercut
and Lee counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Noisy is lucky that one didn't land flush.
Lee throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Lee scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Noisy doesn't seem bothered though.
Noisy throws a head kick but Lee moves out of range.
Lee scores with a head kick. Noisy tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.
A combination from Noisy does no damage.
Lee misses with a head kick.
Noisy tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Lee was well out of range. Poor timing from Noisy.
Horrible takedown attempt by Noisy or perhaps it was just good defense by Lee, which made it look bad.
Noisy tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Lee will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Noisy looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Lee is fending him off so far but Noisy persists. Nope, Lee circles away and we're back to standing.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Lee.
Lee tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Noisy misses with a jab, cross combination.
Lee lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Noisy shoots in looking for a takedown. Lee tries to sprawl out of it but Noisy keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Lee manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Bruce Lee has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tom Noisy.

Noisy shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Lee's guard.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Noisy throwing strikes from guard but Lee blocks nicely.

Noisy wants to control from the top but Lee keeps moving.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Tom Noisy.
Noisy throws a hook to the side of Lee's head but Lee sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Lee avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Lee fails to land with a series of punches.
Noisy has his takedown stuffed
and Lee counters with a head kick.
Lee throws a one two combo.
Bruce Lee is winning the standup battle so far.

Noisy goes for a double leg but Lee avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Lee continues to drive forward.
Lee is trying to break the clinch but Noisy is controlling him.
Noisy fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Noisy struggles to land a body shot inside as Lee controls his hands.
Lee prevents a takedown attempt there.
Bruce Lee has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Noisy tries for a takedown. No joy.
Noisy tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Lee avoids it.

Noisy manages to break the clinch.

And that's the end of the fight!
Tom Noisy comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Noisy winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
