Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Twisted Fate (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mario Junior (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mario Junior looks lathargic as he enters the arena. Wake up son, you're about to have a fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Twisted Fate!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Mario Junior!
The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Seu Braga and Luis Engracia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Junior throws a poor cross that misses
and Fate counters with a stiff right hand.
Junior looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Fate tries to close the distance and clinch but Junior swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Fate shoots in and drives through. Junior sprawls well.
Junior blocks a head kick by Fate.

Junior gets tackled into the cage by Fate. Fate maintains the clinch.

Fate decides to pull guard.
Fate will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Fate is trying to control the position but Junior postures up.
Fate could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Fate seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Fate working a defensive guard here.
Junior is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Twisted Fate has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Fate shoots in looking for a takedown but Junior manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Fate's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Fate shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Junior defends it nicely.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Twisted Fate. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Junior stuffs the takedown attempt from Fate. Fate gets slowly back to his feet.
Fate tries to clinch but Junior moves out of range.
Junior closes the distance and clinches up with Fate, looking for a takedown. Junior pushes Fate against the cage but Fate circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Junior slips a jab and a cross from Fate.
Fate stuffs the takedown.
Fate tries to clinch up but Junior circles away and keeps his distance.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Fate.

Fate throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Junior's head.
A slapping leg kick lands for Fate.
Fate shoots in for a takedown but Junior shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
A thudding body kick lands there by Fate!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Fate shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Junior's guard.
Fate is in close to Junior's body, working some short punches and elbows.

Junior is looking for a triangle but Fate pushes his legs off easily.
Fate trying to control but Junior is working from the bottom.
Fate knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Junior on the ground.
Junior has a closed guard, preventing Fate from standing up.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Fate's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Junior is trying to keep Fate in close.
Fate wants to get up but he can't break Junior's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Twisted Fate.

Fate clinches.
Fate drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Junior gets the underhooks and prevents it.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Fate keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Junior's efforts to push away.
Fate is pressed up against the cage. Junior has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Fate down to the mat. Fate avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Fate shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Junior is looking to stand up but Fate isn't so interested in that idea.
Fate loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Fate tries to free his leg and advance position but Junior is retaining full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Twisted Fate dominated that round.

Fate fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Junior, pushing him back against the cage.
Junior tries to break free but Fate pushes him back against the cage.
Junior tries to pull guard but Fate forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Fate is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.

Fate pulls Junior into guard.
Fate is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Fate looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.
Fate working a defensive guard but Junior passes into half guard.
Junior prevents Fate from improving his position.
Junior is breathing heavily.

Junior wants to control from the top but Fate keeps moving.

Fate looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Junior stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Junior wants it to stay on the feet.
A nice leg kick lands there from Fate.
Fate is looking to clinch but Junior is avoiding it.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Junior enables Fate to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Junior manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Junior stands up from Fate's guard - Junior perhaps looking for a knockout.

Fate rushes Junior and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Fate escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Fate is looking to clinch.
Fate dives in and grabs Junior's left leg, looking for a takedown. Junior pushes down on Fate's head and hops out.
Fate changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Junior tries to avoid it but Fate manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Junior to the ground. Junior escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Junior tries to bum rush Fate with a series of wild strikes but Fate uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Junior darts in looking for a takedown but Fate gets double underhooks and turns Junior into the cage.
Fate can't get the takedown.
Junior is trying to drag Fate to the mat but Fate just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Fate tries to pull guard but Junior forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Fate taking a break, stalling in the clinch.
Fate wants a takedown.
Fate prevents a body shot from Junior.
Junior has had enough of the clinch but Fate keeps him there for the moment.

Fate gets a trip takedown into half guard.
Fate is trying to control. Junior wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Junior pushes Fate off and gets back to his feet.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Fate shoots in for a double leg but Junior sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Junior looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Fate has momentary wrist control but Junior slips an elbow through the middle.
Junior slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
My spies in Franklin D. Bluth Memorial Supergym inform me that Junior has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!

Junior shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Mario Junior has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Twisted Fate is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Fate wants to get back to full guard.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Mario Junior.
Well Fate has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
