Charles is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Don't Fake the Funk by Prince Charles. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 23 - 15 - 0, fighting out of London, Payne Stewart Jr!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 21 - 25 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Henry Charles!
The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, James Atkins and Phil Schofield.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Charles misses with a hook
and Stewart Jr makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
Charles takes a swing at Stewart Jr's ribcage but misses.
A jab from Stewart Jr misses.
Stewart Jr fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Stewart Jr lets loose with a powerful body kick. Charles will feel that in the morning.

Stewart Jr takes the fight into the clinch.
A nice right hand lands inside from Charles.

Charles breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
A slow jab from Charles misses its intended target.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Charles throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Stewart Jr has a takedown stuffed.

Charles scores with a one two! Stewart Jr had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.

Stewart Jr tries to clinch up but Charles circles away and keeps his distance.
Stewart Jr shoots in for a takedown but Charles shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Stewart Jr shoots for a takedown but Charles saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Stewart Jr throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Charles.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Charles throws a right and a left that Stewart Jr avoids nicely.
Stewart Jr dodges the punch combination from Charles.
Charles looks to score with a jab to the body but Stewart Jr is just out of range.
Charles throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Stewart Jr sees it coming and avoids it easily.

Charles looks to land a combination. Stewart Jr sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Stewart Jr tries to close the distance and clinch but Charles swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

A looping hook to the body misses from Charles. Stewart Jr does a little dance to reset his feet.

Stewart Jr closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Charles's guard.

Charles is controlling Stewart Jr's trapped leg to prevent Stewart Jr from advancing to side control.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Stewart Jr has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Stewart Jr lands a big shot there that rocks Charles but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Stewart Jr wants to control the pace but Charles is squirming around nicely.

Charles has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Stewart Jr takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Stewart Jr's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Stewart Jr is just content to waste time from the top position. Charles takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Stewart Jr got a little sloppy there for a moment and Charles has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Stewart Jr has managed to get both his arms back between Charles's legs - danger averted.

Charles has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Stewart Jr can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Charles has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Stewart Jr is working away from the top position though.

Charles is landing with some decent strikes but Stewart Jr is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Oh Stewart Jr is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Stewart Jr takes a big shot to the dome and his eyes have rolled back in his head! Charles's killer instinct has kicked in as he finishes the fight with more strikes. Impressive finish.
