The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Adams ducks under a wild hook from Del Norte.
Del Norte displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Adams throws out the jab.
Adams leaves Del Norte with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Del Norte tries to clinch but Adams moves out of range.
Del Norte throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Adams.
A combination from Adams does no damage.
Del Norte tries to clinch there but Adams circles away.
Adams keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Del Norte.
Adams ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Adams throws a lazy uppercut
and Adams takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Del Norte just misses with a punch to the body.
Del Norte throws a wild body kick that Adams sees coming a mile off.
Del Norte drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Del Norte throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Adams works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Adams is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
Del Norte has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Adams takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Adams takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.

Del Norte sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Adams is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.

Del Norte is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Adams has escaped the position, nice work there.
Adams prevents Del Norte from moving into mount.
Del Norte is working to tighten his grip on Adams's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Adams has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Del Norte is really squeezing tight and eventually Adams passes out! Del Norte breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!

After winning the bout, Antifanz Del Norte thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
