Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Andy Bernard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chimo Kowalchuck (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 4 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Andy Bernard! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Chimo Kowalchuck! The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Alec Ball and Gregory Folan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bernard bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Kowalchuck's head. Kowalchuck misses with a head kick.
Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Kowalchuck. Bernard shrugs it off though. Kowalchuck rushes Bernard and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Kowalchuck managing to block the knees to the body from Bernard.
Bernard tries to work over Kowalchuck's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. Bernard throws a head punch that misses. Bernard leaning his opponent against the cage. Kowalchuck has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Bernard is trying to keep an underhook but Kowalchuck manages to get the takedown into half guard. Kowalchuck landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Bernard definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Bernard gets full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kowalchuck stands up from guard. Let's bang! Kowalchuck closes this distance looking for a takedown but Bernard circles away. Kowalchuck shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Bernard pinned against the cage. Bernard gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Kowalchuck misses with a jab, cross combination.
Kowalchuck misses with a straight left. Kowalchuck fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Bernard sprawls well initially but Kowalchuck persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Kowalchuck wants to control but Bernard is keeping him busy. Bernard keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Kowalchuck is working for a kimura but Bernard is defending it quite comfortably.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Kowalchuck seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Bernard does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Kowalchuck missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Bernard is trying to maintain the position but Kowalchuck is very close to passing his half guard. Kowalchuck throwing shots but Bernard is blocking nicely. Kowalchuck stands up from half guard. Kowalchuck forces Bernard back against the cage and clinches. Bernard unloads a knee to the mid-section.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bernard lands a knee to the head.

Kowalchuck has been looking to improve his clinch game in recent weeks. Bernard seems to have the measure of him in the clinch so far, so let's see if Kowalchuck can turn it around. Kowalchuck breaks the clinch.
Bernard moves in looking to clinch but Kowalchuck pushes him off. Kowalchuck clinches with his opponent.
Bernard tries to stall but Kowalchuck uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Kowalchuck blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Kowalchuck is trying to pull guard but Bernard has him pressed against the cage. Andy Bernard has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Chimo Kowalchuck. Bernard tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked. Kowalchuck gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground. Kowalchuck sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Bernard's guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Bernard avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Kowalchuck. Kowalchuck is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Bernard has managed to free his arm - good work. Kowalchuck stands up and beckons Bernard to join him on the feet. Kowalchuck throws a body kick but he was well out of range there. Andy Bernard seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Bernard is looking to clinch. Bernard tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Kowalchuck counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Kowalchuck content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Bernard is trying to control the position but Kowalchuck postures up. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Chimo Kowalchuck dominated that round. That's time! Back to the action!

It looks like Andy Bernard has been cut. Kowalchuck instigates a clinch. Kowalchuck drops down looking for an ankle pick but Bernard pulls his leg out and moves away.
Bernard lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt. Kowalchuck closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Bernard did well to prevent Kowalchuck getting side control. Bernard avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Kowalchuck. Bernard blocking the ground and pound attempt from Kowalchuck. Kowalchuck is trying to control the action in half guard but Bernard is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Kowalchuck is nestled in close to Bernard, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Bernard blocking the ground and pound attempt from Kowalchuck. Kowalchuck throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kowalchuck lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Kowalchuck lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Kowalchuck working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Kowalchuck lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Kowalchuck prevents Bernard from standing back up.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Kowalchuck working the head and body with strikes. Oh Bernard is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Kowalchuck is sitting in half guard. He's postured up and lands a nice elbow. Oh, Bernard is hurt! He's hurt bad - Kowalchuck fires away with more strikes and the referee jumps in to save Bernard from any more punishment! Congratulations to Kowalchuck! Great finish!
