Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Paddy McIrish (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alex Quarry (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Alex Quarry enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Paddy McIrish!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Alex Quarry!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Ian Loll and Elvis Blanc.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McIrish throws out a powerful jab.
Quarry is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
McIrish lunges at Quarry with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Quarry's hand.
McIrish really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
McIrish lands a jab-cross combination.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Quarry.
A lull in the action here as Quarry stalls from top position.
Quarry sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but McIrish is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.

My spies in Pitbull MMA inform me that Quarry has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!

McIrish looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Horrible takedown attempt by Quarry or perhaps it was just good defense by McIrish, which made it look bad.

Quarry is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. McIrish knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Quarry stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. McIrish swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Quarry tries to score a power double leg takedown but McIrish sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Quarry somewhat.

Quarry shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts McIrish as he jumps to the side.
Quarry stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from McIrish.
Quarry takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
A combination from McIrish does no damage.
Quarry has a pretty nasty looking mouse under his right eye.
McIrish lands a nice shot to the body.

McIrish closes the distance and pushes Quarry back into the cage.
McIrish can't break the clinch.

Quarry breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Quarry goes for a takedown in the clinch but McIrish prevents it.
Quarry fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Quarry is looking to control McIrish's arms but McIrish gets an underhook and turns him. Now Quarry has his back to the cage.
McIrish has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Quarry jumps guard but McIrish stands there with Quarry around his waist. Quarry gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for McIrish, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
