Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Samin Ax (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Yushin Yamamoto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Yamamoto has chosen Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg - On The Boulevard as his entrance music. Samin Ax could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Yushin Yamamoto's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 17 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Samin Ax!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Yushin Yamamoto!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Ian Loll and Trevor Gratis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Yamamoto throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Ax was covering up waiting for the punch and Yamamoto finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Yamamoto is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Yamamoto tries to stand but Ax is controlling from the bottom.
Yamamoto tries to free his leg and advance position but Ax is retaining full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Yamamoto working his ground and pound in the gym.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Yamamoto accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Yamamoto fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Ax has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Yamamoto is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Ax is defending well.
Ax is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Yamamoto to keep the fight standing.
Yamamoto lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Ax backwards.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Yushin Yamamoto dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Ax moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Yamamoto's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Yamamoto is looking to advance position but Ax won't allow it.

Ax is not content to let Yamamoto control the position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Yamamoto throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body.
Yamamoto scores with a hook to the body. Ax takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.

Yushin Yamamoto comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Yamamoto has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
