PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jay Pierre (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dolph Spengler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pierre comes into the arena with BIGGIE SMALLS JUICY blaring out of the sound system. Spengler is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Bully. Jay Pierre could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Dolph Spengler's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jay Pierre!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Dolph Spengler!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Gregory Folan and Ian Loll.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pierre stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Spengler is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Pierre throws a right hand that Spengler ducks under and follows up with a left that Spengler also avoids with ease.
Spengler tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Spengler shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Pierre as he jumps to the side.
Pierre misses with an uppercut.
Pierre defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Spengler.
Pierre lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.


It looks like Dolph Spengler has been cut.

Pierre drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Spengler manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Pierre has Spengler in his guard.

Pierre throws an elbow that misses. Spengler uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Pierre's guard. Nice move by Spengler!

Pierre feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Pierre's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Pierre misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

and Spengler counters with a big head kick but Pierre shrugs it off.
