The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pez misses the shot to the body.
Moraes tries to bum rush Pez with a series of wild strikes but Pez uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Pez throws a right and a left that both miss.
Some wild striking there from Moraes.
Moraes lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Pez circles away quickly and effectively.
Moraes works over Pez's head and body with a nice combination.
Moraes rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Pez moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Moraes throws a series of punches but Pez avoids them all with ease.
Pez blocks a jab.
Moraes falls off balance throwing a combination
and Pez counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Pez is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.

Moraes bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Pez scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.

Moraes gets cracked there but stands up to it.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Moraes looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Moraes uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Pez.

and Pez counters with a one-two to the body.

Pez slips a jab and a cross from Moraes.
Moraes takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

Pez lunges at Moraes with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Moraes's hand.
Ricardo Moraes seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Moraes checks a leg kick.
Moraes takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Pez lands a jab-cross combination.
Pez scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Pez lands a nice shot that snaps Moraes's head back.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Pez works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Moraes gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Pez.
Pez scores with a sloppy right hand. Moraes should have avoided that one.
Moraes swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Moraes looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Moraes shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Pez eats them both and turns towards Moraes to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

and Pez counters with a straight right hand.
Moraes fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Fez Pez dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Pez sizes up Moraes with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Pez connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Pez loads up on a big right hand but Moraes slips the punch.
Moraes lunges at Pez with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Pez's hand.
Moraes misses with a few strikes there.
No joy there for Moraes, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Moraes swinging wildly here.
Pez cracks Moraes with a right hand to the side of the head.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Moraes throws a right and a left that both miss.
Pez missing with a left hand there. Moraes was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Moraes will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Moraes looks to land a combination but Pez avoids it well.
Moraes blocks a jab.
Pez misses with a wild body shot.
Moraes slips a jab and a cross from Pez.
Moraes takes a jab right on the kisser.
Moraes drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
This entire fight has taken place on the feet so far and you wonder whether Moraes might be better served trying to take this one to the ground because he's losing the standup battle so far.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Moraes uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Pez.
Pez is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Moraes has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Pez is rocked!
Moraes throws a right hand that Pez ducks under and follows up with a left that Pez also avoids with ease.
Pez is still on wobbly legs! Can Moraes finish him?
Pez avoids a punch combination nicely.
Fez Pez seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Moraes darts in and lands a big hook, right on the button! Pez's legs crumble underneath him as he falls to the canvas! The ref tackles Moraes before he gets to land any more shots to his stricken foe.
