Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Yohan Kingsley! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Yoncy Lowvinceski! The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Chris Saunders and Ryoma Takatsuka.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! No luck for Lowvinceski with that takedown attempt. Kingsley displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Lowvinceski. Lowvinceski stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Lowvinceski wants it to stay on the feet. Nice straight punches there by Lowvinceski. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Lowvinceski. Kingsley fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Lowvinceski sprawls well initially but Kingsley persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Lowvinceski is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Lowvinceski wants to get back to full guard. Lowvinceski is not content to let Kingsley control the position. Lowvinceski is looking to control Kingsley's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Lowvinceski avoid being mounted? Lowvinceski is concentrating on defense, preventing Kingsley from advancing position. Lowvinceski wants to control the action here but instead Kingsley manages to pass to full mount!
That's one minute gone in the round. Lowvinceski tries to lock up and control but Kingsley gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Kingsley wants to finish this one by submission but Lowvinceski is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Kingsley. Kingsley tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Kingsley in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
Kingsley takes Lowvinceski's back. Kingsley is looking to control Lowvinceski but Lowvinceski is wriggling around and keeping busy. Lowvinceski is trying to break free.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Lowvinceski just trying to survive but Kingsley is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish. So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Lowvinceski wants to get back to his feet. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! What can Lowvinceski do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!
Kingsley working for a choke but Lowvinceski is defending well. Kingsley lands with a big left hand that may well have hurt his opponent. Can Lowvinceski hold on?!
That's three minutes gone in the round. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Kingsley avoiding Lowvinceski 's attempts to control his hands. Lowvinceski is trying to break free.
Kingsley is working for the choke. I would put my money on him to finish from this position. He's rolled onto his back and has dragged Lowvinceski with him. Lowvinceski is trying to defend but Kingsley has an arm under the chin now! Lowvinceski grimaces and is forced to tap out!
