PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Hussak Claw (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Igor Wietrzny (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Wietrzny has chosen Hunter-Fallen as his entrance music. Igor Wietrzny struggled to make weight for this fight. He only made it down to 156.3lbs at the first attempt and had to take the additional two hours to make the official bout weight. Let's see how much it's taken out of him. Igor Wietrzny acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 19 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Igor Wietrzny!
The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, John Mangel and Francis DeMontford.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Claw fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Wietrzny avoids it really well and circles away.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Wietrzny enables Claw to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Wietrzny manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Claw makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Claw with a flurry of punches that miss.

Wietrzny looking for a guillotine here but Claw defends easily.
Claw wants to pass the guard but Wietrzny is keeping the position.
Claw passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Wietrzny manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.

Claw is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.

Wietrzny is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Claw pulls his head out easily.

Wietrzny had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Claw defends it easily.

Wietrzny has his foot on Claw's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Claw works his way back into a safe position though.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Claw lands strikes from half guard.

Claw is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Wietrzny sees it coming and defends easily.

Claw throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Wietrzny works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Claw connects with a couple of short punches.
Wietrzny wants to sweep here but Claw controlling him for the moment.

Wietrzny bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Claw's guard.
Claw is trying to control the position but Wietrzny postures up.
Claw has control of Wietrzny's left arm, preventing Wietrzny from doing any damage.
Claw might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Claw looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Claw not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Claw keeping moving, preventing Wietrzny from controlling successfully.
Wietrzny throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Claw works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Wietrzny drops back, looking for a kneebar! Claw looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Claw looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Claw!

Claw is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Wietrzny is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Wietrzny takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Claw looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Wietrzny is avoiding damage well.
Wietrzny has found himself in a tricky position here. He's been working his transitions in training so let's see if he can work his way out of it.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Claw wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Wietrzny, who protects the arm well.
Claw throws an elbow but Wietrzny slips to the side and avoids it well.
Wietrzny tries to get back to half guard but can't.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.



Wietrzny instigates a clinch.
Claw is working for takedown but Wietrzny is calmly controlling the position for now.

Wietrzny is trying to trip Claw. He has hold of a leg but Claw is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Wietrzny persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

Hussak Claw overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Wietrzny missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Claw looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.

The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

The ref stands the fighters back up. Igor Wietrzny was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Wietrzny dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Wietrzny keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Claw.
Wietrzny throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and Claw decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Wietrzny's guard.

Claw slips nicely into half guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Claw is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Claw is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Wietrzny is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!

During a confident post fight interview, Hussak Claw thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
