The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Majors tries to close the distance and clinch up but Hoffman swats him away and circles back towards the center. Majors clinches. Hoffman fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Majors wants a takedown.
Hoffman is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Majors gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Hoffman prevents the takedown attempt.
Majors tries to land a knee to the head but Hoffman blocks with his arms.

Hoffman jumps guard and drags Majors to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Hoffman has his foot on Majors's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Majors works his way back into a safe position though. Hoffman is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Hoffman has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Majors can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Majors really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Hoffman. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Hoffman has his foot on Majors's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Majors works his way back into a safe position though. Hoffman is looking for a triangle but Majors pushes his legs off easily.

That's one minute gone in the round. Majors trying to stand up but can't free himself from Hoffman's guard. Hoffman working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Majors doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Majors manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Hoffman tries to land a sweep but no joy. Hoffman working for a triangle but Majors defends it easily.
Majors must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Majors wants to pass the guard but Hoffman is keeping the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Majors wants to stand but Hoffman is controlling his posture from full guard. Hoffman looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Majors not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Majors stopping the sweep attempt from Hoffman. Majors wants to get up but he can't break Hoffman's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Majors gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Majors wants to pass the guard but Hoffman is keeping the position. Hoffman is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Hoffman tries to pull guard but Majors won't allow it.

Hoffman tries to pull guard but Majors won't allow it.

Hoffman closes the distance and clinches up with Majors, looking for a takedown. Hoffman pushes Majors against the cage but Majors circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Hoffman throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Majors's waist but Majors gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Hoffman off to one side. Majors tries to clinch there but Hoffman circles away.
A combination from Hoffman does no damage. Hoffman tries to keep at a distance but Majors has taken the fight into the clinch. Knees in the clinch landing for Majors.

Majors gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Hoffman looking for a guillotine here but Majors defends easily.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Hoffman working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Majors doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Hoffman is tightening it up a little... Majors has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Majors reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Majors taps out! nice BJJ there by Hoffman!
