Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Njord Balder (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bert Ernie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Njord Balder! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Bert Ernie! The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, James Ackerman and Andrew Berry.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Balder scores with a nice body kick.
Sloppy strikes from Balder. Those never looked like landing. Balder closes the distance and pushes Ernie back into the cage. Ernie tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Balder just stands there and leans against the cage. Ernie is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Balder letting Ernie take a breather here. Ernie misses with a body punch.
Balder lands a nice elbow from the clinch.
It looks like Bert Ernie has been cut. Balder throws an elbow but it's blocked.

Ernie is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace. Ernie pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Ernie closes the distance and clinches. Ernie is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.

The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Ernie pushing down on Balder's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Balder is looking to improve his position.
Ernie missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Ernie prevents Balder from improving his position. Ernie is looking for a kimura here.
Ernie stalling away here and it's allowed Balder to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.

Ernie is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Ernie tries to free his leg and advance position but Balder is retaining full guard. Balder avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Balder working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Ernie.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ernie is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Balder is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Balder has escaped and now he's on top! Balder might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Balder controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Balder trying to control the position from guard on top but Ernie is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Ernie looking to control.
Balder wants to control from the top but Ernie keeps moving. Ernie pushes Balder off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there. Ernie changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Balder looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Ernie taking a breather here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Ernie tries to advance to mount but can't. Balder gets back to half guard. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Balder has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Ernie is working away from the top position though. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Ernie trying to control from Balder's half guard. Balder has other ideas though and has regained full guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Balder lands with an uppercut that bounces Ernie off the cage and back into range. We've been told by Balder's head coaches at The Fortress that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Balder swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Ernie counters by moving into the clinch. Ernie takes an elbow to the temple. Balder throws an elbow but it's blocked.

Ernie breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Balder tries to clinch up and Ernie counters with a takedown into side control. Balder is not content to let Ernie control the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Balder is trying to control Ernie's posture but Ernie avoids it. Ernie stands up and we're back to a striking position. Ernie looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Balder! Balder throwing some weak shots from the bottom that do no damage.
Balder tries to get back to half guard but can't. Ernie trying to control the action but Balder is working from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ernie decides to stand up, so the ref orders Balder to his feet. Balder falls off balance throwing a combination
and Ernie counters with a lovely straight right hand! Ernie avoids the head kick by Balder.
A big left from Balder misses. Balder swings for the body but Ernie moves out of range.
Balder misses with a double jab.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Balder moves in looking to clinch but Ernie pushes him off.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ernie fails with an attempt to clinch.
Balder throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Ernie delivers a nice body kick. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Ernie fails in his attempt to clinch. Ernie tries to clinch but Balder is having none of it. Ernie dodges the punch combination from Balder.
Ernie closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Balder is fighting off a takedown attempt but Ernie is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Balder to the mat. Balder regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat. Ernie controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Ernie stands up from guard. Let's bang!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Balder stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Balder wants it to stay on the feet. Ernie darts in looking for a takedown but Balder gets double underhooks and turns Ernie into the cage. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Ernie jumps guard and drags Balder to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Balder tries to free his leg and advance position but Ernie is retaining full guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Balder's corner is telling him to maintain position. Balder's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Ernie looking to sweep here. No luck so far. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Balder wants to control from the top but Ernie keeps moving.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Njord Balder. Ernie keeps the fight on the outside. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Balder lands with a nice body punch. Balder tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Ernie paws at him with a jab and circles away. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Bert Ernie showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Bert Ernie's cut. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!
Balder tries to clinch but fails miserably and Ernie counters with a stiff right hand. Ernie shoots for a double leg takedown but Balder sprawls well. He's pushed Ernie's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Ernie shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Balder counters with a big head kick but Ernie shrugs it off. Ernie tries to close the distance and clinch but Balder swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Ernie has Balder up against the cage in a clinch.

Ernie has hold of one of Balder's legs. Balder is fighting the takedown attempt but Ernie gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard. Ernie trying to control the position from guard on top but Balder is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Bert Ernie has got the better of the ground game so far.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ernie takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Balder looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Balder tries to buck Ernie off but Ernie is having none of it. Balder is not content to let Ernie control the position. Ernie moves into full mount! Ernie lands a nice shot to the head.

Ernie tries to control but Balder wriggling away. Ernie is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully. Balder is looking to improve his position but Ernie isn't that keen on the idea. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Ernie scores with a couple of good head shots there.
And that's the end of the fight! Bert Ernie comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Ernie winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
