Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Stephan Kirkson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cory Snyder (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kirkson comes into the arena with Bring Tha Noize blaring out of the sound system. Stephan Kirkson has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kirkson misses with a few strikes there.
Snyder throws the left hand but Kirkson avoids the punch easily.
Kirkson tries to clinch up.
Snyder keeps the fight on the outside.

Snyder clinches.
Snyder is trying to break free.
Snyder is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Snyder tries to break the clinch but Kirkson is controlling the position.
Kirkson looking to slow down the pace here.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Snyder.
Kirkson goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Kirkson prevents Snyder from breaking the clinch.

Snyder tightens his grip and picks Kirkson up, before dumping him to the ground. Kirkson manages to land in guard.
Kirkson throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Kirkson looking to control.
Snyder trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Kirkson doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
Snyder won't allow Kirkson to sweep him here.
Kirkson striking off his back but it's not causing Snyder any problems.

Kirkson is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Snyder wants to stand but Kirkson has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Snyder fails with the takedown.
A big head kick from Kirkson and Snyder is sent sprawling to the canvas!


Snyder is rocked!


It looks like Cory Snyder has been cut.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kirkson thows a big elbow that misses.
Snyder keeping moving, preventing Kirkson from controlling successfully.
Snyder looks gassed!
Kirkson is in close to Snyder's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Kirkson stands up over Snyder, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Kirkson prevents Snyder from getting back to his feet.
Kirkson would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Kirkson pushing down on Snyder's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
Kirkson tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Snyder.

Kirkson is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage!
Snyder avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Kirkson.

Kirkson is trying to work for a kimura but Snyder is defending well.
Snyder is looking to escape.
Kirkson winds up and cracks Snyder with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Kirkson is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Snyder really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Kirkson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Kirkson blocks Snyder's feeble attempts to strike from the bottom.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Snyder really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Kirkson has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
A nice elbow there by Kirkson.
You get the feeling that Snyder really doesn't like being in this position too much.
Kirkson has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Snyder's face.
Kirkson wants to control the pace but Snyder is squirming around nicely.
Kirkson is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Snyder is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Snyder is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Kirkson dives into side control.
Kirkson trying to control the position but Snyder is working away.
Snyder wants to get back to his feet but Kirkson drags him back down.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kirkson sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Snyder is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Snyder is breathing heavily.
Snyder is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Kirkson is controlling him well.

Snyder tries to contro but end up mounted... ooooh, that's bad.

Kirkson has isolated one of Snyder's arms. Snyder looking to fight him off but Kirkson twists into an armbar. It's tight... Will he tap?? YES, he's tapped! This one is all over!
