Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Peter Machado (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chad Reilly (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Reilly has chosen Frontline-Pillar as his entrance music. Chad Reilly has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

8 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Peter Machado! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Chad Reilly! The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Robert Twigg and Gwen Towbar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Reilly swings for the body but Machado moves out of range.
The fighters circling - Reilly throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Reilly throws a head kick that misses. Machado keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Machado ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Machado looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Reilly is fending him off so far but Machado persists. Nope, Reilly circles away and we're back to standing. Machado shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Reilly as he jumps to the side. Nice uppercut lands for Reilly. That snapped Machado's head back.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Horrible takedown by Machado or perhaps it was just good defense by Reilly which made him look bad. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Peter Machado. That's going to take a lot out of him. A swing and a miss from Reilly. Reilly misses the shot to the body.

Reilly tries to sprawl out of it but Machado keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Reilly manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Reilly throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Machado sees it coming and avoids it easily. Reilly stuffs the takedown. Reilly ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. Peter Machado seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Machado shoots in for a takedown but Reilly shows good takedown defense. Machado is breathing heavily. Reilly just misses with a punch to the body.
Machado closes the distance and clinches up with Reilly, looking for a takedown. Machado pushes Reilly against the cage but Reilly circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Machado will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Reilly swings for the body but Machado moves out of range.

Machado is squirming around, avoiding Reilly's attempts to control the action. Reilly controlling the pace for now. Reilly tries to control but Machado wriggling away. Chad Reilly showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!
Machado scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Machado working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Reilly struggling a bit here. Reilly tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Machado wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Reilly can't do much from the bottom here. Machado tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Reilly sneaks back into half guard. Reilly tries to get to full guard but Machado has control of the leg. Reilly is trying to control but can't.
That's one minute gone in the round. Reilly takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Machado is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
