Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jesse Custer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Scotty Bennet (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
24 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jesse Custer! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
31 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Scotty Bennet! The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Don Winkell and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Custer throws a lazy right hand but Bennet sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Bennet moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. Bennet fakes a jab and then connects with a hook. Bennet fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Custer manages to avoid it. Bennet takes one to the chin there. Custer misses with a looping right. Custer with a hook. Bennet tries to clinch up. Custer scoring well with a low kick there.
Bennet cracks Custer with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Bennet tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Custer manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Bennet looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Custer! This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Bennet decides to take the fight back to the feet. Bennet tries to clinch but Custer moves out of range.
That's one minute gone in the round. Custer lands with a hook. Bennet tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head. Scotty Bennet seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Bennet on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Custer. Custer obviously looking to wear him down.
Custer has been working on his boxing with his coaches at The Barracks - LOD in the buildup to the fight. Bennet throws a body kick that misses. Bennet throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land. Custer drops down looking for a counter takedown but Bennet sprawls and moves away. Bennet on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Bennet has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. Custer connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head. Bennet throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Custer was covering up waiting for the punch and Bennet finishes the takedown easily into guard. Custer working a defensive guard but Bennet passes into half guard.

Bennet with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Custer looking for submissions from an awkward position here. The fighters are battling for position here. Custer manages to regain full guard. That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Bennet shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Custer is trying to defend but Bennet finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Bennet is taking a breather. Custer says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Custer is looking to control Bennet's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Custer avoid being mounted? Custer tries to roll over but Bennet keeps him under control. A close round but Scotty Bennet will probably get the nod. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Donk. Bennet catches Custer right on the button with a cross. Bennet tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. A big right from Custer misses. Bennet drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Bennet preventing the sweep. Bennet sitting in guard, not really doing much. Custer working a defensive guard here.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Custer has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Bennet can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Custer working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Bennet doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Bennet manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Not yet Custer, not yet. Scotty Bennet has got the better of the ground game so far. Custer had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Bennet defends it easily. Custer bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Bennet's guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Custer being controlled here momentarily. Bennet is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Bennet preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Custer trying to control but Bennet is working from the bottom.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Bennet wants to clinch up but Custer keeps it at a distance. The fight moves into the clinch position. Custer tries to throw a body punch but Bennet avoids it by throwing Custer back against the cage. Custer misses with a body punch.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Bennet scores with a nice hook to the head. Custer lands a right hand that snaps the head of Bennet backwards. Custer can't find room to land a body shot as Bennet controls the action.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Custer working some nice short punches in the clinch. Bennet swings away with an uppercut that misses.

That was a close second round but I would say that Jesse Custer will probably get the nod. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Custer lunges at Bennet with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Bennet's hand. Custer lands a lovely overhand right. Bennet tries to clinch but Custer is having none of it. Custer lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected. Bennet keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Custer throws a punch but it's blocked by Bennet. Custer lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards. Custer's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button! Custer pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Bennet connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. Bennet tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Custer manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Custer throws a hook but Bennet avoids it easily. Bennet slips a straight right by Custer. Bennet walks into a straight right hand from Custer. Bennet tries to land a leg kick but Custer saw it coming and moves away.

Scotty Bennet really dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Both of our modern day gladiators look out of it here - a gruelling 5 rounds of action taking it's toll on them, no doubt. Bennet is looking to clinch. Bennet punishes Custer's body with a nice straight punch. Bennet takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away. Bennet closes the distance and clinches. Custer is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Bennet is keeping busy. Bennet misses with the head strike.
