Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Wesley Smith and George Francis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No luck with that takedown attempt from Washington .
Poika has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Washington is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Washington misses with a takedown attempt - Poika sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Nice defenses there by Washington .
Washington shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Poika sprawls well. Poika wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Washington gets slowly back to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for George Washington . That's going to take a lot out of him.
Washington ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Washington uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Poika.
Poika lands a right hook to the body.
Washington tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Poika defends well and Washington ends up having to push Poika into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Poika breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Washington bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Poika is trying to buck Washington off.
Washington is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Poika has escaped the position, nice work there.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Washington tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Washington has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Poika is trying to buck Washington off.
Washington thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Poika is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Washington has just dragged him back down to the mat.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Washington is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Poika has escaped the position, nice work there.
The strikes coming from Washington are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
Washington wants to control but Poika is keeping him busy.
Washington is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Poika is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Poika is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Washington has just dragged him back down to the mat.
Washington trying to control the action but Poika is working from the bottom.

Washington is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Poika is trying to escape and Washington transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Poika is forced to tap! Nice work there by Washington ! Very nice indeed!
