Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Derryl Karroki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jesus Soto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Derryl Karroki!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jesus Soto!
The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Dillan Fox and Yves DeLean.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Soto tries to clinch up but Karroki circles away and keeps his distance.
Soto looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Karroki throws a combination that misses
and Soto counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Karroki avoids the body shot from Soto.
Karroki misses with the combination.
Karroki throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Soto tries to score a power double leg takedown but Karroki sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Soto somewhat.
Karroki throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Soto connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Soto shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Karroki but Karroki pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Derryl Karroki has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jesus Soto.

and Soto counters with a left and a right that stings Karroki.
Karroki falls off balance throwing a combination
and Soto counters with a nice uppercut.
Soto throws a head kick but Karroki moves out of range.
Karroki will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Karroki throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Soto counters with a nice uppercut.

Soto rushes Karroki and presses him up against the cage.

Karroki breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Soto throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Karroki's waist but Karroki gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Soto off to one side.

Soto clinches.

Karroki escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Karroki swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Soto counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Karroki is breathing heavily.
Karroki falls off balance throwing a combination
and Soto counters with a flying knee. Nice.
Derryl Karroki is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Karroki throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Soto closes this distance looking for a takedown but Karroki circles away.

Derryl Karroki seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Soto shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Karroki but Karroki pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Karroki is trying to break free.
Soto has Karroki pressed against the cage, preventing Karroki from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Karroki is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Soto's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
Karroki is trying to force a seperation but Soto has the dominant position.

Soto jumps guard.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Soto is pulling down on Karroki's head to control his posture.

Karroki won't allow Soto to sweep him here.
Soto seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

Jesus Soto has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Karroki misses with a combination

and Soto counters by clinching up.

Soto breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Karroki really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Soto shoots in and gets a takedown into Karroki's guard.
Soto is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Soto wants to control from the top but Karroki keeps moving.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Soto stays in close to Karroki's body and controls the position.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Jesus Soto.

Soto throws a sloppy head kick and Karroki moves out of range easily.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Soto rushes Karroki and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Soto's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Soto misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Soto shoots in looking for a takedown but Karroki manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Soto's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Soto is trying hard to land a takedown here. Karroki sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Soto.
Soto tries to close the distance and clinch up but Karroki swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Karroki will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Soto shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Karroki sprawls well. Karroki wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Soto gets slowly back to his feet.

Soto takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Karroki falls off balance throwing a combination
and Soto counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Soto dives in and grabs Karroki's left leg, looking for a takedown. Karroki pushes down on Soto's head and hops out.
Karroki scores with a one two! Soto had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Karroki leaves Soto with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Soto wants to clinch.

Karroki throws a right and a left that both miss.

Karroki tries to sprawl but Soto drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Karroki knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Soto on the ground.
Karroki is trying to stand up here but Soto is controlling him well.
Karroki has hold of Soto's hands but Soto slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

Soto is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Karroki is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
