Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

13 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Timpurhkhum Chouncheun!
The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Donald Grub and Phil Schofield.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chouncheun walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Vanderbeet checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Vanderbeet shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Chouncheun as he avoids it easily.

Vanderbeet looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Chouncheun is fending him off so far but Vanderbeet persists. Nope, Chouncheun circles away and we're back to standing.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Chouncheun would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Vanderbeet is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Chouncheun's half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Chouncheun is not content to let Vanderbeet control the position.
We've been hearing that Vanderbeet has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Vanderbeet connects with a nice short shot to Chouncheun's temple.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Vanderbeet perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Chouncheun is refusing to be controlled, as Vanderbeet sits in half guard.
Vanderbeet is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Chouncheun is looking to escape.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Vanderbeet wants to lay and pray for a moment but Chouncheun keeps working.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Chouncheun keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Vanderbeet works his way into full mount!

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
The referee warns Chouncheun that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Vanderbeet closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Chouncheun can't do much from the bottom here.
Chouncheun tries to improve position but can't.
Chouncheun managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Vanderbeet.

Vanderbeet lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Horacio Vanderbeet overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Chouncheun is in a horrible position here. Vanderbeet smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

It looks like Timpurhkhum Chouncheun has been cut.
Vanderbeet looking to finish here with some ground and pound. He lands one big shot that has Chouncheun covering up... and two more big strikes land, forcing the referee to step in and put and end to proceedings! This fight is all over!
