The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mudada shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Fabiano but Fabiano pushes him off and we're back to square one. Fabiano fails with a takedown attempt. Mudada seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym. Mudada throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Fabiano was covering up waiting for the punch and Mudada finishes the takedown easily into guard. Mudada thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Fabiano is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Mudada postures up in Fabiano's guard and throws a big left but Fabiano blocks it. Fabiano wants to get back to his feet but Mudada is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Fabiano is pulling down on Mudada's head. It's preventing any offense from Mudada, at least for the moment. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Fabiano can do anything to dispel that myth. Mudada drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Mudada seems to have locked his on tight now - Fabiano screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Mudada, as he picks up the win!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kneebar). Amumu Mudada!
