Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jarni Kutsoo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marvin Perez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kutsoo comes to the cage accompanied by Enter Sandman. Both fighter's entrance songs getting the crowd jumping here.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 19 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jarni Kutsoo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Marvin Perez!
The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Bruno Lombardi and Eddie Farnsworth.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kutsoo tries to score a power double leg takedown but Perez sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Kutsoo somewhat.
Kutsoo moves away from the strike by Perez.
Kutsoo shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Perez but Perez pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Kutsoo checks the leg kick nicely there.
Perez scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Kutsoo doesn't seem bothered though.

Kutsoo shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Perez napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Kutsoo wants to stand but Perez has his arm trapped.

Kutsoo has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kutsoo is looking to take a break and control but Perez is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Kutsoo tries to score with some ground and pound. Perez controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
Perez pushes Kutsoo away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Kutsoo gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Perez avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Kutsoo.
We've been hearing good reports from Kutsoo's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Perez bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Perez postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.

The fighters are battling for position here. Kutsoo manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Kutsoo wants to sweep here but Perez controlling him for the moment.

You can see the frustration on Kutsoo's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Perez connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Kutsoo some visible discomfort.
Perez sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Kutsoo is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Kutsoo manages to work his way to half guard, despite Perez's best efforts.

A close round but Marvin Perez will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Perez lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Kutsoo circles away quickly and effectively.

Kutsoo drives through with a takedown into guard.

Kutsoo is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Perez is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Perez has escaped and now he's on top!

Kutsoo has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Perez can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Jarni Kutsoo overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Kutsoo looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Perez puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.

Perez lands with a couple of good shots - one to the side of the head and one questionable shot that could be viewed as to the back of the head but the referee lets it go.

Perez is throwing strikes from the back here. Oh that last one was to the back of the head. Perez gets a warning from the referee. He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Perez gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Perez apologises and we restart here on the feet.

Kutsoo shoots for a double leg takedown but Perez sprawls well. He's pushed Kutsoo's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Perez throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Kutsoo sees it coming and avoids it easily.

Kutsoo has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Perez is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Perez has Kutsoo pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Perez pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Kutsoo tumbling to the mat - Perez dives into Kutsoo's guard.
Perez seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

That's time! Kutsoo's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Perez thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Perez winds up and cracks Kutsoo with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Perez looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Kutsoo with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Kutsoo is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Kutsoo is trying to control but can't.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Perez with the ground and pound but Kutsoo uses the opportunity to regain guard.
Marvin Perez is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Kutsoo striking off his back but it's not causing Perez any problems.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Perez cracks Kutsoo with a right hand to the side of the head.
Kutsoo tries to close the distance and clinch up but Perez swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Kutsoo misses with a takedown attempt - Perez sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Kutsoo gets caught flat footed, as Perez shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Kutsoo is on top in guard.

Perez wants to hit a switch here but Kutsoo passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Perez there!

Kutsoo wants to finish this one by submission but Perez is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Kutsoo.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Marvin Perez comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Perez has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

A less than humble Marvin Perez misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
Jarni Kutsoo spoke after the fight, saying 'my fault my fault i`m week...'.
