Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Scott Bessac (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jack Gerow (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Scott Bessac! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jack Gerow! The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, Eddie Farnsworth and Bruno Lombardi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bessac circles away from the clinch attempt and Bessac counters with a left and a right that stings Gerow. A head kick misses from Gerow. Bessac moves into the clinch successfully.
Bessac has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Gerow is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Gerow keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Bessac's efforts to push away. Gerow escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Gerow wants to clinch up but Bessac keeps it at a distance. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Bessac forces Gerow back against the cage and clinches. Gerow has Bessac pressed against the cage, preventing Bessac from circling away and getting back to striking at range. Bessac drops down looking for an ankle pick but Gerow pulls his leg out and moves away.
Bessac lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nice sprawl there from Bessac as Gerow shoots in. Bessac shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down. Bessac tries to score with a low kick but Gerow moves his leg out of the way. Gerow tries to clinch up. Bessac forces Gerow back against the cage and clinches. Gerow tries for a takedown but Bessac manages to get underhooks.
Bessac is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Gerow can't fight it off and eventually Bessac manages to take the fight to the floor. Gerow looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard. Bessac looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Bessac is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Gerow working a defensive guard but Bessac passes into half guard.
Gerow wants to control but Bessac is keeping busy.
Gerow really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Bessac. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bessac controlling the pace.
Scott Bessac has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. Bessac shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Gerow is trying to defend but Bessac finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Gerow wants to sweep but Bessac has passed to side control! Bessac working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
Bessac decides to take the fight back to the feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Bessac misses with a wild body shot. Bessac misses with a series of wild punches.
Bessac tries to score a power double leg takedown but Gerow sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Bessac somewhat. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Scott Bessac. That's going to take a lot out of him. Bessac is breathing heavily. Gerow tries to clinch up. Bessac fails miserably with a takedown attempt. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Bessac shoots in looking for a takedown but Gerow manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Bessac's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Gerow has Bessac up against the cage in a clinch.

Gerow leaves Bessac with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Gerow shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Bessac defends it nicely. Scott Bessac is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Bessac misses with a two punch combination.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Gerow. Bessac has closed the distance and engaged Gerow in a clinch.
Gerow lands a right hand. Gerow has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Bessac after a bit of a struggle. Scott Bessac has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jack Gerow. Gerow lands with a light punch inside.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bessac pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Gerow moves into the clinch. Gerow is trying to break free. Gerow is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Bessac to keep the fight standing. Gerow wants to stall.
Bessac is defending well against a takedown attempt. Gerow is breathing heavily. Gerow looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Gerow being controlled against the cage. Bessac escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Gerow looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Bessac connects with a looping right hand.

Gerow misses with a short punch on the inside. Gerow breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Bessac scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Gerow leaves Bessac with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Bessac takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! The fight moves into the clinch position. Gerow tries to break free but Bessac pushes him back against the cage.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gerow wants a takedown but no success here.

Gerow looking for a takedown. Gerow tries to pull guard but Bessac holds him up against the cage and eventually Gerow drops back down to his feet.
Gerow is trying to force a seperation but Bessac has the dominant position. Bessac turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Bessac manages to end up in side control. Gerow is letting Bessac control him for a moment. Bessac is putting a hurting on Gerow here, landing some big shots from side control. Gerow trying to remain calm as Bessac controls from the top position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Bessac decides to take the fight back to the feet. Gerow closes the distance looking to clinch and Bessac counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Nice body kick from Gerow. Bessac gets a takedown into half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bessac throws a right hand that Gerow ducks under and follows up with a left that Gerow also avoids with ease. Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Gerow. Bessac shrugs it off though. A big right from Bessac misses. Bessac misses with a double jab.

Both fighters are breathing heavily. Gerow tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked. Gerow with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bessac has Gerow pressed against the cage, preventing Gerow from circling away and getting back to striking at range. Gerow tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Bessac smiles and moves away.
Bessac rushes Gerow and presses him up against the cage. Gerow tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Bessac just stands there and leans against the cage. Scott Bessac has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jack Gerow. Gerow working hard to break the clinch. Bessac gets control of Gerow's arms and successfully pulls guard. Bessac will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. Bessac tries to strike from the bottom.
Gerow wants to control from the top but Bessac keeps moving. Bessac lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Bessac stands up from Gerow's guard - Bessac perhaps looking for a knockout. Bessac fails to land with a series of punches.
Bessac swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Gerow. Bessac swinging wildly here.
Bessac darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Gerow tries to roll over but Bessac keeps him under control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bessac slips a nice elbow through Gerow's hands, connecting with Gerow's forehead. Gerow wants to improve his position but Bessac is controlling well.
Gerow is pushing off trying to get to his feet. Bessac has hold of the leg though and he's dropped back for a heel hook… has he got it?? YES! Gerow is tapping! This fight is all over!
