PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight kickboxing rules bout between Kamikaze Sazuki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lucan The Butler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sazuki comes to the ring accompanied by 2pac-Tupac Heaven Ain't Hard 2 Find. The Butler is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Game of Thrones. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 25 - 19 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Kamikaze Sazuki!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Lucan The Butler!
The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, Colin Fotheringham and Richard Clark.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The Butler throws a head kick but Sazuki moves out of range.
The Butler misses with a straight right.

The Butler clinches up with Sazuki and pushes him back against the ropes.
Sazuki can't break the clinch.
Sazuki blocking some punches.
Sazuki struggles to land a body shot inside as The Butler controls his hands.

The Butler can't find room to land a body shot as Sazuki controls the action.
Sazuki blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Both fighters working to control the clinch.

Sazuki is trying to break the clinch but The Butler is controlling him.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
The Butler is trying to maintain a safe position but Sazuki gets an underhook and turns The Butler into the ropes.

Sazuki's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

The Butler tries to close the distance and clinch up but Sazuki swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Sazuki lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
The Butler tries to clinch up but Sazuki circles away and keeps his distance.

The Butler throws a low kick but it's checked well by Sazuki.
Sazuki scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
The Butler thuds his right hand into Sazuki's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Lucan The Butler seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Sazuki throws a jab but it's blocked by The Butler.

enabling Sazuki to counter with a crisp jab.
Sazuki rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but The Butler moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Sazuki shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. The Butler eats them both and turns towards Sazuki to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

The Butler feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Sazuki's calf.
The Butler throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
The fighters circle momentarily. The Butler darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
The Butler lands with a nice body punch.
Sazuki throws a sloppy head kick and The Butler moves out of range easily.
The Butler lands a head kick!
The Butler scores with a nice body kick.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Lucan The Butler will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


The Butler looks for the body kick but Sazuki saw that one coming.
The Butler pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Sazuki does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
A combination from Sazuki does no damage.
The Butler fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Sazuki has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Sazuki throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
A kick lands to the mid section there for The Butler.
The Butler rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Sazuki counters with a thumping low kick.
Sazuki works The Butler's body with a nice hook.
The Butler pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.

The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as The Butler checks a leg kick.
The Butler tries to clinch up but Sazuki circles away and keeps his distance.
The Butler swings for the body but Sazuki moves out of range.

and Sazuki takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
The Butler lands a body shot.
The Butler throws a jab when Sazuki was well out of range.
The Butler swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Sazuki throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Sazuki throws a leg kick but The Butler checks it.
Sazuki really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

and Sazuki counters with a nice low kick that buckles The Butler's knee momentarily.

and The Butler counters with a stiff right hand.
Sazuki cracks The Butler with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

Sazuki throws a body shot but no joy.
Sazuki looks to land a right hand but The Butler moved out of range.

A left lands for Sazuki.
Sazuki throws a hook but The Butler avoids it easily.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Sazuki ducks down and throws a hook to the body but The Butler moves away.
Sazuki fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and The Butler has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Sazuki fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. The Butler looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
The Butler lands a lovely overhand right.
The Butler tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Sazuki was well out of range. Poor timing from The Butler.

and Sazuki counters with an inside leg kick.
Kamikaze Sazuki is winning the standup battle so far.
The Butler looks to land a left hand but Sazuki moved out of range nicely.

Nice body kick there by Sazuki.

That was a close second round but I would say that Kamikaze Sazuki will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

The Butler throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
The Butler dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Sazuki. That did some damage!
Sazuki swings for the body but The Butler moves out of range.
Sazuki cracks the inside of The Butler's front leg.
Sazuki throws the left hand but The Butler avoids the punch easily.

The Butler moves into the clinch.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
The Butler tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.

Sazuki breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
We've been informed that The Butler has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.
The Butler throws the kick towards the body but Sazuki avoids it.
The Butler pushes Sazuki away with a front kick.
The Butler is looking to land body kicks.
Nice uppercut lands for The Butler. That snapped Sazuki's head back.
Sazuki throws a body punch but The Butler moves out of range.
The Butler throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Sazuki scores with a nice head shot.
The Butler chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Sazuki can pounce on him.
Sazuki ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
The Butler tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
The Butler throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Sazuki stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Sazuki throws a quick head kick that skims the top of The Butler's head.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Sazuki avoids the head kick by The Butler.
A decent looking cross lands there for The Butler.
The Butler moves out of range of the strikes.
The Butler ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
The Butler tries to land a front kick but Sazuki steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Sazuki throws a solid leg kick but The Butler takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Sazuki.
A nice leg kick lands there from Sazuki.
Sazuki looks to land a left hand but The Butler moved out of range nicely.
Sazuki takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Sazuki scores with a nice strike.
Sazuki connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between The Butler's hands.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Nice straight punches there by Sazuki. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Sazuki.
The Butler connects with a high kick.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Kamikaze Sazuki.
I think Sazuki has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
