Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Noah Sauvageau! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Alexei Antonov! The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Alec Ball and Dillan Fox.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sauvageau throws an overhand right that lands on Antonov's shoulder, as Antonov tries to avoid the shot. Sauvageau shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Antonov sprawls well. Antonov wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Sauvageau gets slowly back to his feet. Sauvageau throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Antonov avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Antonov looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Sauvageau is fending him off so far but Antonov persists. Nope, Sauvageau circles away and we're back to standing. The fight stays on the outside here - Antonov looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Antonov is looking to clinch but Sauvageau is avoiding it.

Antonov is looking to clinch. Sauvageau bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut. Antonov shoots in and bounces Sauvageau off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Alexei Antonov has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. Antonov looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Sauvageau looking for a sweep. Not yet Sauvageau, not yet. Sauvageau working a defensive guard but Antonov passes into half guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Sauvageau has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Antonov is working away from the top position though. Antonov not landing any meaningful shots this time. Sauvageau is trying to get back to full guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Antonov missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sauvageau wants to sweep but Antonov has passed to side control! Antonov has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Antonov takes a little break here. Sauvageau wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well. Sauvageau is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Antonov is one step ahead and moves to full mount! Antonov lands with some strikes. Sauvageau is squirming around, avoiding Antonov's attempts to control the action. Antonov landing punches. Sauvageau is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Antonov looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead. Antonov landing shots from mount. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Sauvageau defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Antonov. Antonov tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Antonov moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Sauvageau has worked his arm free - good work by Sauvageau!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Sauvageau is trying to control Antonov's posture but Antonov avoids it. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Alexei Antonov dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Nice takedown defense from Sauvageau. No joy for Antonov on that attempt. Sauvageau thows a left - swing and a miss! Sauvageau closes the distance and lands a one-two. Antonov shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. Antonov needs to keep his hands up - Sauvageau had a free shot at his head there. Sauvageau ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Antonov moves away. Antonov ducks right into an uppercut from Sauvageau. Sauvageau scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Antonov throws a head kick that misses. Antonov misses with a body kick. Sauvageau looks to score with a jab to the body but Antonov is just out of range.
That's one minute gone in the round. Antonov tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Antonov fails to land the takedown. Sauvageau lands with an overhand left. Sauvageau connects with a looping right hand.
Antonov shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Sauvageau as he jumps to the side. Noah Sauvageau has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Alexei Antonov. Sauvageau misses with a right hand and Antonov counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Antonov. Antonov preventing the sweep. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Sauvageau is trying to control the position but Antonov postures up. Antonov gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Sauvageau misses the jab. Sauvageau jabs Antonov right on the nose. Antonov blinks but takes it well. Antonov tries to close the distance and clinch up but Sauvageau swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Antonov looking for a sweep. Not yet Antonov, not yet. Sauvageau missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Sauvageau wants to stand but Antonov has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Antonov working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Sauvageau doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Sauvageau manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Sauvageau knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Antonov on the ground. Sauvageau trying to control the position from guard on top but Antonov is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Sauvageau has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

We're going to have a standup here because Noah Sauvageau wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Sauvageau lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent. Sauvageau connects with a single shot there. Alexei Antonov is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Antonov closes the distance and clinches up with Sauvageau, looking for a takedown. Antonov pushes Sauvageau against the cage but Sauvageau circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Antonov attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin. The fight moves into the clinch position.

Antonov's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Danga de danga de dang - Antonov scores with a four punch combination! Antonov waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Sauvageau. Sauvageau fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Antonov manages to avoid it. Sauvageau throws a good cross that connects.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Excellent takedown into side control there by Antonov. Antonov is breathing heavily. Sauvageau is looking for a sweep. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Alexei Antonov showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Sauvageau's guard. Sauvageau is looking for a sweep. Antonov is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Antonov stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Sauvageau to get to his feet. Antonov drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Noah Sauvageau. No luck for Antonov with that takedown attempt.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Sauvageau tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage. Sauvageau is defending well against a takedown attempt. Sauvageau scores with an uppercut up the middle. Antonov blocks a punch to the side of the head.
