Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Joe Lauzon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Donald Gregorio (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Joe Lauzon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Donald Gregorio!
The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Seu Braga and Daniel Cesar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gregorio shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Gregorio controlling the action here.
Lauzon tries to kick Gregorio off but Gregorio keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Gregorio perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Gregorio wants to get back to his feet.
Gregorio scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
Lauzon is trying to control but can't.
Lauzon flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Donald Gregorio was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Lauzon feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Gregorio pulls Lauzon in close to prevent any damage.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
OK we're going to have a standup here. Donald Gregorio hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Gregorio stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Gregorio wants it to stay on the feet.

Gregorio closes the distance and clinches up with Lauzon, looking for a takedown. Gregorio pushes Lauzon against the cage but Lauzon circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Lauzon leaves Gregorio with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Joe Lauzon has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Donald Gregorio.

and Lauzon counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Gregorio!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Lauzon fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Gregorio avoids it really well and circles away.

Gregorio is trying to maintain the position but Lauzon is very close to passing his half guard.
Lauzon decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.

Lauzon closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Gregorio did well to prevent Lauzon getting side control.

Gregorio has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Lauzon is working away from the top position though.

Lauzon looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Lauzon throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing Gregorio to regain full guard.
Lauzon loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Gregorio manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Lauzon manages to get himself to full guard.
Gregorio got a little sloppy there for a moment and Lauzon has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Gregorio has managed to get both his arms back between Lauzon's legs - danger averted.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Lauzon is looking to stand back up but Gregorio counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Lauzon.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Gregorio postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Lauzon looks a forlorn figure.
It looks like Joe Lauzon has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Gregorio lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
