Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Mauricio Rocha and Luis Engracia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kawabata throws a head kick that misses.

Perry shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Kawabata as he jumps to the side.

Perry shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Kawabata sprawls well. Kawabata wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Perry gets slowly back to his feet.

Perry changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Kawabata tries to avoid it but Perry manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Kawabata to the ground. Kawabata escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Perry closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Kawabata tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Perry wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Adam Perry overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Perry will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Perry throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Kawabata works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure.
