Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Saladin Hussain (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Domingo Rojo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Saladin Hussain ! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Domingo Rojo! The judges for this bout are David Hoff, Peter Branson and Michael Johnstone.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hussain gets the takedown into side control. You can see the frustration on Rojo's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Hussain decides to stand up, so the ref orders Rojo to his feet. Hussain shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Rojo but Rojo pushes him off and we're back to square one. Rojo slaps away a takedown attempt from Hussain , before circling back to the center of the mat. Rojo changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Hussain looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Rojo trying to control the position but Hussain is working away. Rojo grinds an elbow into Hussain 's temple. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rojo tries to land with some ground and pound but misses. Rojo scoring with punches and elbows. An elbow from Rojo crashes against the mat.
Rojo trying to control the position but Hussain is working away. Hussain is looking for a sweep. Hussain parries the strikes from Rojo easily there. Rojo is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Hussain to escape.
Hussain taking a bit of punishment here - Rojo scoring with strikes. Hussain takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Rojo trying to control the action but Hussain is working from the bottom. Rojo has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Sloppy strikes there by Rojo. Hussain takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head. Hussain looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Rojo throws an elbow but Hussain slips to the side and avoids it well. Rojo tries to move to mount but Hussain blocks the move with his legs. Rojo wants to take a breather but Hussain manages to regain guard - a lesson learnt for Rojo. Hussain lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hussain stands and steps away. Rojo gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Rojo scores with a nice strike. Nice sprawl there from Rojo as Hussain shoots in. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Saladin Hussain . That's going to take a lot out of him. Hussain fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Hussain shoots and misses and Rojo counters with a stiff right hand. Rojo keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Hussain is breathing heavily. Rojo decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Rojo throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Rojo scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Hussain blocking the ground and pound attempt from Rojo. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Rojo is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Rojo with the ground and pound but Hussain uses the opportunity to regain guard. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Rojo is working Hussain over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Domingo Rojo dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Rojo shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Hussain 's guard. Hussain utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Rojo is pushing down on Hussain 's leg trying to pass to half guard. Hussain is fighting to maintain full guard but Rojo has managed to sneak the leg through. Rojo thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Hussain 's head. Rojo is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Hussain sees it coming and defends easily. Rojo is looking for a kimura but Hussain is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Rojo to get the leverage. Rojo is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Rojo is breathing heavily. Rojo thows an elbow strike that misses. Hussain gets hold of full guard and has managed to get a loose guillotine attempt. Rojo doesn't seem too bothered but Hussain quickly shifts his position and has tightened the hold! Rojo is in big trouble now - he's going a funny colour - he's tapping out! Nice finish there! Rojo really should have spotted the danger earlier though... either incompetence or over-confidence has resulted in a big L on his record.
