Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Greene lands with a straight right. Valo didn't see that one coming. Greene throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Greene fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Valo looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Valo has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat. Valo is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Greene.
A looping hook to the body misses from Greene. Valo does a little dance to reset his feet. Greene throws a poor cross that misses
and Valo counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Greene keeps control of the position for the meantime. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Valo passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Greene! Valo avoids the attempt from Greene to control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Valo has hold of an arm here, looking to extend it. He's committed to the armbar attempt here! Will he get it?! Yes! Greene is forced to tap!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:23 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Riku Valo! Our winner, Riku Valo, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
