Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ezekiel Hughes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jack Parsons (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Parsons has chosen Rev Theory - Dead in a Grave as his entrance music. Jack Parsons is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jack Parsons!
The judges for this bout are , Jack Bonds and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Parsons drives through with a takedown into Hughes's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Hughes bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Parsons's guard.

Parsons is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Parsons can do anything to dispel that myth.
Hughes trying to control the position from guard on top but Parsons is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Parsons throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Parsons has tried to improve his agility in the runup to this fight.
A cross from Hughes lands.
Hughes does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Hughes throws a big shot that misses.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Hughes.
Parsons shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Hughes as he avoids it easily.
Parsons shoots in and drives through. Hughes sprawls well.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Parsons connects with a nice short shot to Hughes's temple.

Hughes on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Parsons lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Parsons working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Hughes tries to roll over but Parsons keeps him under control.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hughes is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Parsons's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Parsons's back!

Hughes is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Parsons is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Parsons lands a nice short elbow.

A close second round but Jack Parsons will probably get the nod - 10:9.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. And we move into the final round!

Oh Hughes is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!


Ezekiel Hughes's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
Parsons lands a big elbow - Hughes is out of it! He's waving his arms around but his eyes are closed and he's not intelligently defending himself - the ref has no choice but to jump in and stop the fight! This one is in the books! A TKO win for Parsons!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:45 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jack Parsons!
In his post fight interview, Jack Parsons started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
