Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Robert Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tommy Riordan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Robert Gracie!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Tommy Riordan!
The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Ben Hemmingworth and John Mangel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gracie staying out of range there.
Riordan throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.


It looks like Robert Gracie has been cut.
Gracie will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Riordan lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Gracie drops his hands momentarily and Riordan takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Gracie throws a half hearted mid kick.

Gracie fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Riordan, pushing him back against the cage.
Gracie is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Riordan is defending well.
Gracie can't find room to land a body shot as Riordan controls the action.
Gracie wants to get back to striking at distance but Riordan won't allow it.

Riordan gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Riordan in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

Gracie working for a triangle but Riordan defends it easily.
Riordan is looking to work some ground and pound but Gracie has wrist control.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Riordan's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Gracie is trying to control the position from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Riordan avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Gracie is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Gracie has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Riordan can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Gracie is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Riordan scores with a couple of nice shots.

Gracie's coaches at Great Bash Heel have been working on his defensive grappling in preparation for this fight so let's see if he can get out of this tricky position.
Riordan looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Riordan slips a nice elbow through Gracie's hands, connecting with Gracie's forehead.

Gracie is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Riordan's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Riordan's back!
Riordan really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Gracie. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Riordan wants to get back to his feet.
Riordan is keeping busy.
Gracie somehow managing to miss with a strike from the back.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Riordan is in a world of trouble here. He's outmatched on the ground here and he'd better get Gracie off his back sharpish unless he wants to be submitted.
You can see the frustration on Riordan's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

The crowd hopeful of a finish here - Gracie's supporters are on their feet, screaming for him to go for the rear naked choke.
Riordan wants to escape the position.

Gracie goes for a risky armbar from back mount and it's not paid off. Riordan escapes and is now in half guard on top.
Riordan scores with a couple of good hammerfists.

Gracie is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Riordan's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Riordan's back!

Gracie has the rear naked choke here! This is very bad for Riordan! Can he survive? No! He's out! Gracie gets to his feet and celebrates with his cornermen. He looks absolutely delighted. In the post fight interviews he takes time to thank his parents and everyone who has believed in him from the start. How sweet.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Robert Gracie!
A very excited looking Robert Gracie made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
